Of course it did.

There is no "Helmut wanted Daniel out" conspiracy. I love Danny Ric as much as anyone, but he was done.

If he was getting beaten by a very good driver you might be able to make that case, but being by Yuki means he's not worthy of a place in what's meant to be a "junior" team.
I'm not a rose tinted DR fan, love the bloke and it was sad to see his decline. He didn't deserve a mid year dumping but end of the season if he joined Kmag, Bottas, Zhou on the sidelines then he wouldn't have been out of place.

But, Christian Horner himself said Marko wanted Daniel out after Spain.

TBH neither of them should be there.

We all know Checo should've been chucked out ages ago, possibly even before Dan. But 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Checo is there because he brings the biggest backer in F1 with him, but that shouldn't be enough to save him now.

Ricciardo definitely looked like he had some of his mojo back after the McLaren debacle, his highs showed that it was still there, Miami sprint and Canada. But the summer break really killed that off.

By all accounts he went in believing he was coming back a Red Bull driver but that all changed and from there it was the end.

A little bit, but it was pretty fleeting.

A guy of his talent doesn't lose it as such, but it becomes far less consistent. His biggest mistake was leaving Red Bull in the first place, even though I can see the reasons why he did.

It was a stupid move.

There's an argument his 2020 season at Renault was his best in F1 (after 2014)

Yep my mistake, they've significantly scaled back operations and targets rather than stopping.

It'll be decades before everyone is driving an EV, they aren't as "sustainable" as they would like everyone to believe.
No doubt.
I’m not a big EV fan but I do know that they will get better and better as the years go on.
And those who don’t understand that the ICE vehicle will eventually be replaced by EV’s, or similar, I liken to those who said they’d never, ever, ever trade in their horse.

In Australia the future will be hydrogen rather than electric.

Europe it'll be electric.

At the moment hydrogen appears to be going nowhere.
And if it doesn’t take off in other countries then it won’t here. Economies of scale would restrict the big automakers from making a bespoke model line.
What would be a deal breaker for Australian cars would be the body being made of something that would keep the vehicle charged while operating. This would negate the range issue that we have in this country.
I work in a large country town and in the last 18 months we have had 3 new petrol stations open. And another one being built. And a closed one being renovated on the drive home.
Someone knows what the future holds.

I worked for one of the big oil companies, I can tell you they were throwing everything behind hydrogen, rather than electric (part of the reason for is obvious).

The ICE is definitely on the way out. I'm not convinced it'll be electric that overtakes it in this country though.

Seeing very little in the marketplace for all the money they are throwing at hydrogen.

You won't for years yet. The technology required to keep it safe and viable is not going to be an overnight fix.

Toto knows that without Lewis, his career in F1 would've been a much shorter one.

I'm not a huge fan of Hamilton, but the guy deserves all the plaudits he gets from here until he calls time on his career.
maybe, maybe not. neither you nor i know that. benz provided him with the best power unit.

and, c'mon, some credit for a genuine message. not everything in life is self-serving. at least for many of us.

He isn't.... but that's ok.

Your view that Daniel has somehow been screwed out of a drive is embarrassing

Lawson, a veteran of 10 GPs is pretty much doing what Daniel, a bloke who's been in F1 for over a decade was doing.

Just stop.

The only thing that's embarrassing is that you seem to think Lawson isn't being beaten by yuki.

First time out Liam brained him.

A combination of bad luck and a couple of silly errors in the last couple of races stopped that momentum.

I'm not a huge wrap for Lawson, but only an incredibly biased Aussie would suggest he's not a better option than Dan. He's as good as Dan is now, let alone moving forward.
