Sky F1 already being insufferable now even more so with yet another British driver. Ffs crofty was absolutely losing it over Oliver. I bet if Doohan came in as a sub for Alpine it would barely get a mention but if Mick was there he’d get more airtime.
DR not off to a great start this season, hoping for improvement or Danny Ric might be shown the door.

Yes Sky are very Brit-centric, which isn't nor should be a surprise.
But I do recall Crofty frothing for DeVries and Lawson's stellar drives to points too.

Looking past all that, Bearman's debut deserved every accolade by any commentary team irrespective of allegiances.

Early doors still but Dan had an opportunity to stamp his authority at RB after Tsunoda's meltdown and he wasn't within cooee of him.
I didn't hold much hope for him usurping Checo but he might get cast off like De Vries mid year if he doesn't show any pace.

Dan's job security could also hinge on Horner's.

Should the rest of the competition take encouragement from the fact that Max didn't lead every lap of the race? Norris led for a few laps in the middle, after Max (and most of the rest of the field) pitted for tyres, after Stroll did a very Lance Stroll thing.

Of course, the only reason Norris led was because he didn't pit - but it did mean that he (and by extension all of the drivers ahead of him) was still close enough to the lead to be in front when Max emerged from the pits.

I'm not sure that Max didn't open up a 22 second gap over Lando in 7 laps is really cause for a huge amount of optimism.

Yep...

(and the reason why I don't throw s**t at experienced drivers finishing low down without asking why).

I don't know how true it is but someone on Reddit said he had an issue with the car which they knew about after qualifying but couldn't fix under parc ferme conditions so he just had to put up with it during the race.

Was hung out to dry in public because of it. I had no idea until days later. Only so much you can do after this. He may still be not up to it anymore but geez he's been unlucky throughout his career. Mainly through his own choices. If he had stayed at RB to begin with he'd have 15 race wins by now. And could have even leveraged himself into Merc post Rosberg and cleaned up! (Not exactly sure if that timeline checks out) either way probably 0 chance of getting into a RB now that everyone's warming on Checo again.
Maybe he should just retire into the sunset.

I was watching it, was wondering why she was still going flat out. Even the team had no idea she was still going. Was a worry if anyone was out on the track back at the start/finish line.
wheres the bloody radio and her engineer or team boss ffs?!?

Slow down luv you won it!

That would scuttle most races....

I saw a post race comment somewhere from Chandhok about RICs pit delay and his response was - that it was during the safety car period and it doesn't explain why he couldn't match his team mate when on track.

This was despite admitting earlier he wasn't aware RIC was delayed for so long and why - and so completely dismissing the fact the delay may have had something to do with RICs car not being up to pace.

Look, I understand Sky F1 is focussed on the British subscribers and so he and Croft are focussed on the top end of the field during the race and Brit drivers elsewhere rather than non Brit tail-enders. But without Brundle on hand for balance, Chandhok seems to follow a line of Sky commentators who have the drivers they are biased against and couldn't give a stuff about being balanced and informed about.

It just seems just so unprofessional. And I fret for when Brundle finally gives the commenting game up.

Sky F1 coverage is just rubbish these days imo. I use the F1 Live app when I’m watching it usually. Unfortunately it’s somehow logged me out on my Foxtel unit at the moment and won’t let me log back in so I’ve been forced to listen to Sky. 🤦‍♀️
