I think itll be down to who drives the car in a similar style to Max.

They'll want whoever it is to be more competitive than Checo (not hard) but not so much that they have a Vettel/Webber situation. Liam is far less combustible but probably not as fast. He's spent time doing all the promo stuff and is reportedly good with corporates etc.

Pace wise, Yuki is the right choice of the Red Bull drivers.
Mentality wise, Liam will be the one that won't spiral if he's well behind Max, and let's face it they both will be.

I still maintain Hulk or Bottas are better choices if Red Bull's aim is to win the Constructor's.

Then again maybe it isn't and they are already privately writing off 2025 and will just focus on getting Max a 5th driver's title.

It's still kinda surprising that RBR didn't go for the free swing with Ricciardo after the summer break. I guess it must have been too expensive a free swing or something

IIRC Horner wanted to but Helmut stopped it since Checo's sponsors came to the party. Or it might have been the other way around. From all reports even Daniel was working under the assumption that he would be in the Red Bull.

This

They probably had enough data to suggest it wasn't worth it.
Which makes the ‘Happy Daniel’ scenes at Spa a bit confusing. But maybe Helmut wasn’t happy with DR coming back for whatever reason. We could speculate forever.

Yeah, I don't think data came into it

Of course it did.

There is no "Helmut wanted Daniel out" conspiracy. I love Danny Ric as much as anyone, but he was done.

If he was getting beaten by a very good driver you might be able to make that case, but being by Yuki means he's not worthy of a place in what's meant to be a "junior" team.

The internal ructions meant that was never going to happen. Too many factions pulling in different directions.

To be fair Lawson is having his backside handed to him by yuki and he might get an RBR gig so that point is a tad hypocritical.

He isn't.... but that's ok.

Your view that Daniel has somehow been screwed out of a drive is embarrassing

Lawson, a veteran of 10 GPs is pretty much doing what Daniel, a bloke who's been in F1 for over a decade was doing.

Just stop.

I don't think anyone is saying Daniel was screwed out of a drive as such, more that it would have been worth a shot to give him a go in Checo's seat seeings as Checo wasn't doing anything with it. Of course we would've like to have seen that and it's a pity it didn't happen when it easily could have.

TBH neither of them should be there.

We all know Checo should've been chucked out ages ago, possibly even before Dan. But 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Checo is there because he brings the biggest backer in F1 with him, but that shouldn't be enough to save him now.

Ford, Toyota and GM are all building ICE vehicles into the foreseeable future, as are Mercedes.

Sustainable fuels are becoming more readily available by the year and the tech is improving at a faster rate than EV.
You stated that manufacturers had stopped producing EV’s.
You were asked to provide names of those manufacturers.
You haven’t answered the question.

Yep my mistake, they've significantly scaled back operations and targets rather than stopping.

It'll be decades before everyone is driving an EV, they aren't as "sustainable" as they would like everyone to believe.
