Round 11 of the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship takes the series in the Rhine Valley for the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. After a year away, Germany returns to the F1 calendar with the popular circuit, home to two drivers on the grid. Hulk and Vettel..

ADR looks to have his work cut out for him with RBR prepping his car for Hungary he has been handed a boot full of grid penalties which will see him start in last place after replacing just about everything under the bonnet.

Broadcast times:
FoxSports Ch 506

Saturday
19:45 EST - Practice 3
23:00 EST - Qualifying

Sunday
21:30 EST - Race

As to "other" means to view the coverage I know not of such things.

So, an engine penalty will see Ricciardo start last in Germany. Yay.

The theory being that it puts ADR in a good spot for Hungary.

Meanwhile, post P2 Max tops the timesheets.

Not sure the strategic move of taking the penalty now is gonna pay off so well.

Im sure the 400 strategists have it right.

Go ADR.

Not only topped but broke Schumi's 14 year old lap record in the process

He can podium this race. He ain't gonna get caught in traffic here. Chances of saftey car are high while max is still running.

His cars gonna be fast

CAN use qualy and practice purely to set car up

Based on the RBR being potentially lighter on Deg and the Ferrari having MAJOR Deg on not really long runs in P2 on the Soft there really is a chance.

IF ADR can pick the right compound to start on, stay clean for the first 25 laps and move up as well, then he can in theory go the Ultras for the run home... maybe... Track temp will be a key here.

Wil be interesting but no doubt some pinorkle wombat will make it hard for him.

GO ADR

A high points finish (Top 6) is probably the best that Daniel can hope for starting from the back. Mercedes and Ferrari have not turned up the engine yet and when they do their pace should be solid enough for a Top 4 finish without incidents. Should be a fun race regardless.
I wonder if any driver will try a move in sector 3. Its very narrow

Also to avoid confusion the race times listed in the OP are for the broadcast preamble and not the actual race (by all means tune into that if you want to hear about Lewis Hamilton for an hour and a half).
Lights out is Sunday at 11.10pm EST
Qualifying tonight at 11pm EST

Cue it getting red flagged or something like that.
Once they get some cars actually going around it will dry out quickly, no one wants to use their sets of wets for practise
