Back to back F1 weeks, and two pretty historical GPs to return from the break. Last week at Spa turned out to be a bit of a fizzer after the first corner incident. Lets hope there is a bit more excitement at Monza, but I'm not sure if there will be.

This is the quickest GP of the year by far, so expect the Red Bulls to be a fair way back in the pecking order (I wouldn't be surprised if Haas or Force India gave them a real challenge around here). Daniel is starting from the back of the grid, choosing (or being forced to choose by Helmut) to take a whole bunch of new engine parts for Singapore. Ferrari have not won at home since 2010 and are probably in their strongest position to do so this weekend.

That was a helluva crash for Ericsson. Absolute passenger with no chance to control the car at all, it happened very fast.

    Monza is a beautiful circuit.

Amazing how off the pace Bottas has been too. Nowhere near it all weekend.

That was entertaining. Tight at the top. Well done Ferrari.

A bit of a shaken up top ten. Well, six to ten.

    Please no team orders Ferrari
    Let them race.

Seb will inevitably get his way though. Toys out of the cot whenever a team mate beats him

    KIIIIMMMMIIIIIIIII!!!!!!

Going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow between the two Ferraris. Yes, I would rather VET to win the WDC over HAM, but would love to see Kimi win the race tomorrow.

Kimi still doesn't have a contract for next year (who knows what's going on behind closed doors though), so does he:
    1. Do the "team" thing with the new boss in town and let VET through so VET can win the race, and maybe secure a contract for next year, or
2: Does he throw caution to the wind, remember he's a racing driver after all and just go for it.

Head says option 1, but heart wants to see option 2!

264kph average speed...... average !! That is absolutely insane, particularly given the speed of the first 2 chicanes.

Also, gee whizz is Vettel salty.

Classic pouty Seb. Lewis is the same.

Meanwhile, ADR gets a rear of the grid start for the C spec Renault engine upgrade where as Max gets it with no penalty.

If you get a chance, watch the GP2 race from last night.

Just finished watching it then. The super soft tires were ruined after a few laps and the driver starting in 14th stormed through on the medium tires and took the lead in the first five laps and just took off down the road, a few seconds a lap faster than those on the super soft.

Wonder if we might see a similar thing tonight in the F1 race, or if it was just freak set of conditions that lead to the super softs being ruined and the slower tire for everyone last night?
