Some regulation changes from the latest WMSC meeting. Nothing major, all seem sensible.

FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The changes to the 2012 Regulations have been approved by the Formula One Commission.

One set of dry-weather tyres may now be carried over to Saturday if both Friday sessions are declared wet; it is hoped that this will result in teams carrying out more laps on Saturday.

Changes have been made to the personnel curfew to ensure the rest periods remain constant throughout the season, irrespective of the timing of practice sessions at particular events.

The race director may now prohibit the use of the adjustable rear wing (DRS) if he feels visibility is too poor in wet conditions. This has been done as a result of safety concerns over large speed differentials between cars.

At what stage of a F1 career does a driver decide to spend time improving their start off the line? Webber has been the worst starter for 10 years now, and he still stuffs up every start. Its a fundamental element of racing and as an experienced driver you'd think he would spend the off-season practicing his starts.

But nope, still shit as he used to be, and i think for that reason he will always be the bloke who came close but never achieved what he wanted to. Hasnt had a podium finish at Melbourne, hasnt won a world championship in a great car.

Mark "almost" Webber. Harsh, but right now it seems like this is the reputation he will leave the sport with when he retires.
 
Looks like it's very possible we're not going to get F1 on One come the Euro races :rolleyes:

This week for the opening round of MGP, the race is being shown on 10, but NOT One.

**** I hate channel 10.

It's a real shame Sky won't sell their stuff to people outside the UK, because I would happily pay them for their channel.

Every session, qualy and race no Ads, great build up/post race shows, all in HD.

Go **** yourselves 10 execs.

Maybe I should consider moving to the UK.

Yes I saw that. But look at all the promotion about F1 being on Ten come the euro races.

Also the US golf in that early morning timeslot has very often been on 10.

You may be right (and I hope you are), but we'll see. And I am reasonably confident we're going to get screwed.

I'm also suspicious we'll only get SD races. But I'm clinging to hope...

Really?

Since Fangio hey have provided F All to motorsport. I dont really think they need a race.

I hate to see the likes of Silverstone, Spa etc put on the back burner just so Bernie can snare a few more dollars.
 
There is a pretty cool street circuit in Argentina.

Carlos Reutemann is the moral '81 champ. He would be in the top 3 non championship winners and would be better than most champs. Argentinian domestic motorsport is either bigger than the Australian scene or has been for a long time.

AFAIK it's somewhat like Bathurst. Not a 'real' (Monaco/Singapore) style street circuit, but a public road that is most meaningfully used as a race track.

Wiki entry says this: The circuit is semi-permanent, with a length of 6.27 km (3.90 mi). It was created by modifying the ring road that encircles Lake Potrero de los Funes, at the course's center.


Either way, I would have no problem with F1 going there.


Edit: Had a look on Google earth, and it's the main road that goes around the lake and does connect to heaps of other roads. 100% like Mt Panorama.
