In this instance I don't think so. He was referring to "mid 2nd rounders", "end of 2nd rounders" and such so he was talking in a draft range vernacular, he just didn't know what the lowest compo pick available was.

Yeah true. Just heard his analysis of our list. Some of it was right other parts I was a bit confused by half the players he criticised of not reaching their potential have been dogged by injury their entire careers.

I realise that the Cats side may have been harder to get a game compared to us but jeebus wtf are the AFL thinking? Rivers played every bloody game and was a required player.

If the AFL wanted to promote the FA period, they've just bent it over instead. Clubs will learn from this and in future years simply wait for the delisted FA window unless it is a marquee player or they aren't losing any players. Port played those morons beautifully, they were never going to keep Pearce and would have traded him in any case - they were far than happy with him.
