Erm, it was meant that is it a surprise that Oliver is totally incompetent.

His view of the incident:

“Something something by the letter of the law….”

I recall when he sent off Lewis-Skelly, they said it was supposedly because serious foul play constitutes contact above the ankle? Gold :D

He’s unfit for purpose.

He's so ****ed. No other way to put it.

He's not a bad ref, lacks bollocks at times.

But he's under a lot of pressure now, you've got a few clubs and fanbases stoking the fire and he's had to deal with all sorts of abuse including death threats.

Last few months have been really bad for him, although I think some of his decisions haven't been as bad as the pile on suggests. It wouldn't hurt to take him out of the firing line for a bit.

He can always spend more time refereeing in UAE.

Good. Got what he deserved.

Millwall and class is like the sun and Pluto. Miles apart, darkness on the other side
Didn’t know a lot about Millwall fans tbh

But I read things like the following and need fo find out if it’s true, or just media dribble (courtesy FotMob).

“Millwall fans were not so forgiving. Some members of the away section could be heard chanting "let him die" while Mateta received extensive medical attention on the pitch”

He is a bad ref. Try to spin it however you want but there is a reason why he is widely regarded as terrible by every fan base.

Is there a ref that isn't regarded as terrible by every fanbase? I'm not aware of one and this year has shown that giving a decision (even if its a correct decision) against your team has been enough to get some fanbases questioning competence.

I do worry about the pile ons targeting certain refs, it has to starting influencing their decision making knowing that if you give a decision against certain teams you will cop it and will never be forgiven.

Childhood Liverpool fan Anthony Gordon gets himself sent off so he can avoid playing them in the EFL Cup final.

And now Brighton are down to 10 as well

Ha ha. He looks like a rat, he looks like a rat. Bruno Fernandez, he looks like a ... goooooaaaallllll

Dude is married to a beautiful wife and he earns more money in one week playing football than the majority of the away supporters inside Old Trafford would earn in five years of work. He‘ll be fine lol.
