Fair play to Steve Parish, he brought Palace from the brink of administration to a mainstay and now FA Cup winner without being a billionaire or having billionaire backers until lately with Textor
Let's see what the bloke who nearly put them into administration thinks of the current owners:

There's a good documentary on Prime called where eagles dare about it. Parish is just a fan who used his own money with some mates

To think Palace were winless for the first two months and Glasner was a game or so away from being fired.

He now won two major trophies now at underdog clubs.

Watching Doku do nothing for 90 minutes was painful.
People have got unrealistic expectations of Doku. Made 2 of 3 runs leading to shots , kept possession, dragged 2 or 3 defenders out of the goal area. He was OK on the day.

Savinho was far worse but gets a small percentage of the criticism.

team needs to be blown up and pep needs to reassess what works in football going forward, cos this slow possession stuff isn't it any more. Has got it wrong far too often this season and has put too much faith into blokes who just aren't up to it any more. Some absolutely baffling decisions this season and more again today.

It can't be coincidence that two teams that finished first and 2nd the last few seasons both had poor seasons at the same time, both struggled to break down similar teams etc and one is Pep and the other was his ex assistant in Arteta.

The question is were both teams worn out, especially in Citys case worn out from being top dog for 10 seasons where every title run has typically been close bar a few here and there, or is it that teams are shifting tactics like what happened when teams moved away from the 4-4-2 to the 4-3-3 or when teams shifted from Joga Bonito or when teams tried then moved away from/countered Tiki Taka.

Wasn't that long ago we were pretty much a guaranteed goal from the spot. Elano, Anelka, Yaya.

Since then, absolute shitshow. If we're above 1 in 3 I'll be surprised.

You are right on Savinho, but it's imprinted in my brain of Doku standing on the edge of the box and doing f'all. Felt like I was watching the same situation on repeat.

As for expectations, it's a massive drop-off from Sane, Mahrez, Sterling etc.

I think we'll get that this summer.

Fitness or form - Ederson and Ortega will be gone. Dias, Akanji, Stones, Ake have regressed. Bernardo and Kev will be gone, suspect Gundo as well even though he's contracted for another season. I'd like to see Kovacic stay but wouldn't shock me if he doesn't. If he hadn't had the career he's had before this season Foden would be gone.

We've got a few replacements in already but a load of work for Viana in a few weeks and with the club world cup there isn't much time to do it.

I had a really good view of him today, and do for home games (right on goal line).

Don't know if it comes through on tv but live it's really obvious how much we moves defences around. He's never left 1 on 1, more often than not it's 3 defenders that have gone over to him.

So that backpass sets us up really nicely. And we've created plenty from it. When he does get behind the defence he can still be a bit hit and miss but he's often crossing or passing through plenty of bodies.

He's been a shining light for us this past few months, and far from our biggest concern imo.

As for Sane, Mahrez, Sterling etc we're a different team now and we play a totally different way. He might never reach those levels I don't think it's a fair comparison. Still only 22 as well, so plenty of improvement left in him.

Well done Palace. Their first top level trophy.

VAR had a mare. Henderson should have got a red for handball DOGSO. Bernardo was going to ground before he fell over Mitchell's legs.

At this stage clubs that have either never won anything in their history or haven’t won anything in decades should sell a player to Bayern Munich and see how they go. Crystal Palace have already won the FA Cup after selling Olise to Bayern. Can Spurs win the EL after selling Kane to Bayern?

What an awesome day! It always felt nervy that the City equaliser was going to come.

Felt like Richards was sensational all game.

Is Pep finished ya reckon? I’m not writing him off just yet but I am starting to think this isn’t just a blip.

It happens to everyone in the end, even the greatest.
