Surely the most obvious way to boost the prominance and importance of the FA Cup would be to just piss the League Cup off? One Cup competition a season would be better.

I personally love the FA cup, and think if something has worked for 130 years changing it will just ruin it, although I agree putting the semi's back to Villa Park or Old Trafford would be a good move
You are correct. The League Cups introduction was one of the first and most important steps in reducing the uniqueness and consequently the appeal of the FA Cup.

Don't clubs usually split the gate 50/50?

If a struggling lower league club can snatch a draw and get a replay at a Premiership club, they make a fair bit of coin. Why take that away?

The FA Cup is losing it's stigma purely because bigger clubs don't prioritise it anymore. I'm not sure how any of these proposed ideas will change that.
