Hi Port fans.
I have read that fabian deluca is out of contract and is thinking about coming home to victoria. was reported he was put up for trade and port demanded a 2nd round pick hence no deal.

I simply came to ask about what you guys think about him as a player and his potential as we here in melbourne dont' see a whole lot.

i would love for the tigers to pick him up so a bit of info on deluca would be great thanks!

He kicked a goal this year for Sturt that I saw. Probably the worst kick for goal i've ever seen but yet it went through.

But he is good at racking up hit outs.

He's one of the best tap ruckman you'll see.

He can be decent when played up forward. Has a pretty big and decent kick on him but almost always dishes off a handball when he has the ball, especially at AFL level, which can lead to a few embarrasing errors.

The key to Fabian is confidence. He's very quick to drop his head and as soon as he does, his game falls apart. Personally, I want to keep him on our list.

thanks guys. thought i read elsewhere he was progressing well early on in the season for you guys, fair enough then.

at least it's good to hear he's quite good at hit-outs. it's the type of ruckman we're lacking at the tigers. simmonds and pattison are smallish rucks who have great agility and endurance that can outwork other ruck around the ground but not so good at hit-outs. so maybe something for us to consider, may complement our existing rucks.

thanks again

Likely to be delisted so you can have him in the PSD for nothing. Go for it.

Thanks for the good laugh!

His wiki page

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Deluca

Fabian De Luca is an AFL footballer playing for Port Adelaide, recruited from Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup. he is the brother of the now-retired Adrian Deluca. He is also the brother of Joseph De Luca, a Chartered Accountant with the Big 4 accounting firm Deloitte. Unlike his brothers Fabian has excelled with the ladies, a department where Joseph and Adrian historically struggled and still do today. With his superior quickness and agility Fabian has been instrumental in the success of the Sturt "Didgeridoos" (aka Magoos, two's & reserves). Sturt Coach Rick McGowan suggested that Fabian could be an AFL star.
De Luca plays in the ruck position and has been in good form with his SANFL club Sturt. he made his AFL debut in Round 5, 2006 against Collingwood and has played 3 games in 2006 and 2 games in 2007.

Just noticed also all of Ports selections in 2004 have been delisted or traded

Adam Thomson Pick 4
Ryan Willits Pick 19 Rookie listed now
James Ezard Pick 34
Fabian Deluca Pick 35
Ben Eckermann Pick 51

But I guess that last game in September a more important fact about 2004....;)
