Used to prefer Myspace, before Facebook could do much. But Facebook has better features now. And many, many more people I know are on there - I've found people I haven't spoken to since primary school.

I havent got either, been meaning too though just havent been bothered, but is'nt myspace seen more for teenage kids, and facebook for university students/keeping in touch with ppl from High School??

Facebook = 40 Million Users
Myspace= 200 Million Users

Content is king. Myspace is far better in my mind.

I love myspace becuase of the music i can surf around and here on it. Myspace Music is the main reason they get my vote over Facebook, which looks plain and boring without music. Also most night clubs i go to have myspace accounts in which i can see what DJ's are playing n all that which is fair cool.

Myspce is more personalized too imo. Still a great tool to keep in touch with friends, but is similar to facebook in that regard.

Facebook does have some good features that myspace doesn't like seeing similar friends in other friends accounts. I went on someones today and had things on his news board like '____ posted a comment on ____ wall'.. '____ threw a sheep at you'.... what the? Stuff i could care less about.

Ultimately you are going to enjoy the one which has more of your friends on it. Myspace is probably for people 19-20 and under. Facebook is certainly an older crowd. Everyone at my uni has facebook but barely any of y mates have them. We are still all myspace.

If you actually want to find someone you know or whatever, Myspace is the way to go, as Mattlowry said myspace has about 200 million members

I voted for Facebook, mainly because my computer more often than not shits itself if I'm on MySpace.

Facebook quite a bit easier to set up i reckon. Hasn't been going as long, i predict it will become more popular than MySpace within a couple of years.

Facebook has been going for a good 4 years.

I like both but facebook is a lot better designed and better for close networks like colleges/universities. All these new application things suck though.

I prefer Facebook. The layout is neater and once you look beyond the stupid requests to be pirates/vampires/ninjas, it has better communities.....specially for uni students like myself

correct... facebook has grown massively since it became open to anyone about 1 year ago... previously you had to go to a college or work for a company which had a facebook network set up...

i went to an american college for 9 months studying abroad, and facebook just came into its own over there, you could spend hours on it...

but as you said most of the applications and more so the application requests suck the big one...

facebook over myspace for me. I find myspace to be cluttered and a pain to navigate. I also hate it when people embed music into their page which automatically play.

To the poster who said they are for 'look at meeeeeee' types well maybe for some but really it's just a good online tool for keeping track with people, I've especially found it useful for staying in touch with friends O/S who's path I'm unlikely to cross on msn.

Facebook has taken over from Myspace. Still use both but Myspace is just driving me nuts with the bugs in the system, constantly getting spam sent to me. argh.

Facebook is used more widely in the uk (well i think so) its simple and easy to use and keeping up with mates here and back in australia just is so much easier.

Myspace good for music but that is all that appeals to me nowadays.

I know a lot of people think the Facebook applications suck pretty bad (I got over them rather quickly also), but there is a music one called iLike, allows you to add as much music/music videos as you like to your profile, as well as dedicate songs to others. It is rather cool . It also doesn't play unless you click, unlike MySpace's which I find kind of annoying.

I do have a name, you know? ;)

Facebook. Myspace seems too cluttered when I look at other peoples pages.

Your name ain't important til you get yourself a Facebook. :thumbsd: ;)

Yes, and I'll be sure to use those colourful backgrounds where it clutters the page where you can't see the text, and embed annoying music where visitors will find it hard to turn off! And we can't forget SMS speak either. ;)

Myspace is, and always will be a very poorly designed site. The second another big website of the same type emerged it was always going to be more impressive... and Facebook is.

I have both. I've been on myspace for a few years now and only joined facebook this year.
I use myspace daily and facebook only a couple times a week. Myspace just added a bunch of new stuff like forums etc. So now there's more to explore.
The thing is having only a bad dial up connection to go on, it's hard for me to see peoples profiles on myspace when they have all kinds of stuff on their page. That is my only peeve on myspace.
With facebook I have a few issues. Like looking for friends with "common" names. There are literally hundreds sometimes, and it makes it hard to find the person you are looking for if they don't have a pic. Also, half the applications don't work or they work for a short time. With all the unwanted requests for applications and unnecessary notifications about what other people are doing to other people ... it's just a pain. I only use it as a means to contact the few people I don't have on myspace or msn.
Well that's my 2 cents.
Take care all.
Kim.

But...but...I don't do any of that. :(

Well OK I have a song that loads on myspace but you can turn it off...

To the people who said facebook. Out of curiosity how old are you all?

In terms of the set up of pages, its really up to the person. Facebook doesnt really allow alot of customization (from what i know, feel free to correct me facebook users) whereas myspace you can do nearly anything with your page. Makes it more interesting in my opinion.

Ultimately, as i said earlier, content is king. You will prefer the one that you know more people on.

For older people that is generally facebook, for younger people it is generally myspace. They are pretty similar really.
