Facebook Vs MySpace

I have a facebook. It's okay, but I can't say I'm a fan of any of the applications/gimmicks. Poking people, that shitty vampire game etc, it's all pretty lame.

It just seems to be a contest to see who can get the most "friends".

Agree with that completely, "omg I have so many friends on my face-book im so awesome!.

This one girl I know and dislike had to show us that she had so many friends and did it by mysapce then we found out she had just randomly added them.

Maybe if I had friends I wouldnt consider them a waste of time :)

I haven't logged into MySpace for about twelve months, so I'll say Facebook (which I hardly use either).

i loved myspace during school and it was so much fun playing with the layout but it was always a compertiton to see who had a better looking profile or how many picture comments you could get

i still use my myspace to talk to some friends in america but now i have them on facebook

I like facebook alot like everyone has said its a good way to keep in contact with friends and find old ones

im in not comp to add heaps of people or to have thousands of friends
nor do i add any of the applications besdies the afl one i just keep my profile simple but love having the albums and such coz its a good way to see pictures that friends have from the weekend or show others and such

HATE the new layout with a passion

and nothing brings a bigger smile 2 my face/makes me laugh when i see players such as Richo having facebook ha ha

You will probably prefer the one the majority of your mates use.

They essentially do the same thing for me. I don't give a shit about applications, its about seeing photos from recent events and staying in contact with people/seeing what they are up to.

I prefer myspace because i think it shows the personality of people more in terms of how their page is set out. I also love the music element on myspace. Facebook is much smarter however and far better set out. Also better for pictures.

If facebook had custom layouts like myspace and music then that would be ideal for me, but i understand older people (which facebook is aimed at, i.e 18+) don't really care about that stuff as much.

Myspace is dying. It really is for younger people under 18.

One geezer i looked at had over 600 friend apparently. That is crap, how can someone have so many friends and have actually ment them all and talked to them for more then 5 minutes?.

You know, that guy at school you never hardly ever talked to and for 5 years the total amount of time you talked to him was a couple of minutes and that was only for a class activity when the teacher made you sit in groups. His my friend on facebook along with 300 people that i have but i couldnt tell you **** all about them.

From my experience most people treat these sites as a bit of a bragging or dick waving contest. Sure they are alright to track down lost friends or whatnot but apart from that what point do they serve. Seems to be a bit of a wank to see who can get the most friends, who can pose with the most fluro on, who can speak utter shit about their favourite sports and music and other pointless crap.

****ing w***ers.

Agree with this. i have facebook & enjoy it as i only have a handful of real friends on it. As my old man told me when i was in high school "when you get to my age son, you will be able to count your friends on one hand". Very true (in most cases).

I did get a friend request a while ago however from some 20ish bird who lives in SA. When i got the request i actually sent her a message asking if she knew me or if i knew her (i'm sure i didn't). She didn't reply so after a week i thought bugger it & accepted the request.

Glad i did as she is a real looker with a massive rack & most of her gazillion "friends" are of the same ilk. Photo's galore........:thumbsu:

Tried Myspace. To cluttery & too much "wank" for mine..

I got a friend request from some chick in the US saying that she noticed I was in the Dexter fan group, as though that was some sort of friendship worthy bond. I added her out of curiosity to find she apparently has over 800 friends. It's pretty sad to think that people gain some sort of sense of worth or esteem from having a ridiculous number of friends on an internet site. Hell, it's sad even in real life. Quality over quantity for me.

Festering holes of bi sexual gothics who nobody's heard of, nobody's spoke to and nobody gives a sh** about posting quizzes that nobody ever reads and updating their statuses as if people are listening to them and making them feel relevant. lawlz.
