Has anyone ever looked at their friends list and really thought about how many of the people in it they've actually spoken to in the past year?

I've never really had "randoms" in my friends list, but there were plenty of people from high school (finished in 2005) who I haven't spoken to or even seen around for a number of years. I was kind of shocked at how few of these "friends" I actually keep in contact with. I've decided to keep all of those who I've actually spoken to in person or on Facebook in the past year (I've counted 67 people), and have culled the rest. I figure if those that I've deleted really want to get in contact with me, they can go to the effort to track me down again.

lol. i deleted all the plebs that i added (or they added me) that i went to school with. fair enough, used to speak to them heaps at school, but havent spoken since really since i left and thats a good 12 years ago. was fine for about 5 minutes, but then decided to go on a clean up one day and dropped about 80 or 90 'friends' from my list.

got about 80 friends on my friends list. 30 are people ive met traveling and i'd love to hang onto them in case i end up near them for a place to crash but overall, only 20/25 or so people that are family/friends that i'd call up and chat to or whatever

Talking about not really knowing people on facebook i thought i'd try this one today to see how many people actually knew me.

I wondered how many people would wish me a Happy Birthday for the second time this year. Birthday is in February, and i thought i would have another birthday today.

When you open up the sidebar, it only gives you a selection of friends both on and offline, and doesn't let you scroll, not enabling you to see the complete list of who's online. The only way to see if your friends are online is through the little grid, which goes away when you open up the freaking sidebar! Spoken to a couple of people, and theirs isn't like this though...

Yeah mines the same, it's pissing me off. Also got friends who said they can scroll, so who knows what's going on.

Facebook chat is shit now, unless you talk to them a lot it they are not shown.
Good old Facebook Mobile app saves the day though, but still shit update.

I primarily use facebook on my phone, but through the m.facebook site as opposed to an app.

Does anyone else? I have been getting connection errors the last couple of days, wondering if anyone else is getting the same. No idea if it the phone or the site (other sites are working fine).

When you have an iPhone etc you normally dont use the m.facebook site as it's a lot slower and has issues. What kind of phone do you have?

Never used the FB Android app, but it must be quite horrible to be worse then the m.facebook one.

Dont know what FB were trying to achieve changing the chat to what it is now. Its almost unusable. Half the time when you go online it doesn't show anyone online at all even though there is.

Also the live feed above it shows absolutely everything you do. Comments on people's statuses that aren't mutual friends etc.

Yeah that seems to happen a fair bit too, not exactly their best update.

I was asked to change to the new and improved chat thing a few days ago, unfortunately I clicked yes.

It is shit as. Short term other than "hiding the sidebar" to see the display pics of those online on the left if you go to: http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php it shows all online...

Pain to have to do it every time though....
