When is it acceptable to send a friend request? After the first meeting with someone? After a couple of months of knowing someone?

Have a few people at work that I've gotten quite close with as friends, but we aren't friends on Facebook, but for some reason am 'umming' on sending requests to them.
Just send them.

Given the number of people willing to accept friend requests from people they've never met at all, I'd say if you've met them once that's plenty.

One of my more degenerate Facebook friends posted a status nine days ago stating that she was single because she was 'sick of her boyfriend's shit'. Yesterday they announced to everyone they are now engaged. *popcorn.gif*

I'll keep it out of the topic thread so to not derail, but facebook has gone in to full racist mode after the happenings in Sydney today

My nephew went to jail a few weeks ago. Every few hours his girlfriend updates us as to how their love will never die and prison bars can't keep them apart.

Prison bars. Can't be kept/torn apart. Clearly Port fans.

Couples that write mushy shit on each other's Facebook walls are the worst. Ugh
Especially 40 year olds I know acting like 15 year olds doing that.

There is a closed group that I am on that is an open discussion for people in my town. It is a full on gossip, sledging and slander group. Needless to say I left that group.

If they did both at the same time, that would be something
Oops. had a thought in my head about the first quote, and then forgot it.

I'm in a "secret group" with about 15 other mates. We don't post that kinda thing but we do have a secret laugh about the bogans that we went to school with and the others that are around.

Some guy from work became friends with this chick. This is listed on my newsfeed as happening 2 hours ago.

The next post after that is them being married/in a relationship.

Speaking of people at work, does Facebook have a "Married, having an affair" status? I think some people would be stupid enough to use it if they do.
