"Hi, I'd like to book an appointment to see a counsellor, I need some help"

"What exactly is your problem, sir?"

"Well, I tend to believe that symbolic landmarks such as war memorials aren't that important, and tend to glorify imperialistic military campaigns... but some guy online said that I needed to seek help because he couldn't comprehend that I would have an opinion like this"

"oh ok - Well luckily we have counsellors that deal exactly with this specific issue"

"Oh fantastic, when is the next appointment?"

"I can get you in next Friday at 2.30pm"

"Great - See you then"
Some guy online retracted from that, and said that you were beyond repair because you're incapable of seeing the issue without your rose coloured glasses on.

Ugh - I totally understand what your gripe is about - I just don't think it's that much of an issue. My original statement that started this massive off-topic argument was that there is plenty of worse things that someone could do than piss on a war memorial.

I still stand by that - Firstly, you could actually piss on someone and it would already be infinately worse than pissing on a war memorial

Plus a myriad of other actions you could do to an actual individual living thing that would be worse than pissing on a block of concrete, or sculptured marble that has a plaque.

Or you know, you could sit in a room with a remote control as a droid flys above a random village in the Middle East and drops bombs -

If the scheme of things, urine on a memorial can be argued to be unsightly, and that's about it.

---------------------------

I've also broken my personal rule about having an extended argument online, so this will be it

Have a good night

I get that you're a bleeding heart leftie and hate the West, but I just don't think you understand that symbolic memorials genuinely mean a lot to people out there who were affected by war.

Either way, we will just have to agree to disagree.

It basically boils down to respect, sadly something there's not enough of in society these days IMO. Yes, it's just a lump of concrete on one level so I know what you mean when you say that, but as others have said it's what it represents not what it is. I'm sure you can understand that intentionally urinating on anything is a sign of disrespect. Yes, people can clean it off and get on with life but it doesn't alter the fact that it's disrespectful.

It's ironic that radiojake is going on about how pissing on a war statue isn't disrespectful or whatnot, yet this is the same guy who dumped rubbish on a Maccas counter.

Respect :$

Yup - I can agree that people would see it as disrespectful

I also maintain my original comment which was there is a lot of worse things one can do -

I guess that's it, really...

----

also Cruffy, it was the floor of a McDonalds, and that was years ago now

You also don't know what irony is, because nothing in your post is ironic

Fair enough. (And I only came in here to ask a question so that's it from me too :$ ).

haha wow, how pathetic.

...

are you going to enlighten me about the other incidents that I've missed?

Between February 1942 and November 1943, during the Pacific War, the Australian mainland, domestic airspace, offshore islands and coastal shipping were attacked at least 97 times by aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force andImperial Japanese Army Air Force.

I mean I get that you hate Australia and the West, and seemed to have formed your social and political views from your Gender Studies 101 class, but at least try to hide the fact that you're a selfish imbecile.

Try to post without being a passive aggressive ****. Same to you PowerbaII

You're so conditioned by ACA and the Herald Sun to be outraged. Radio jake just shared an opinion. He didn't piss on something, he just expressed that he doesn't think it's a big deal that someone did.

Ffs, the ANZACs themselves probably would've just laughed at someone pissing on a statue tbh.

I mean, I understand that you have tried to paint me as a parody of left-wing loonyism based on only one single topic, and all you and powerball have done is try to attack me personally by throwing insults at me based on one of my opinions. (an opinion that I haven't actually advocated doing, nor have I done it myself. I just said there's plenty of worse things than pissing on an inanimate object) - but please refrain from being aggressive. It's unsightly.

Thank you for the above link. I honestly only remember learning about the Darwin raid. So I was wrong before. However everyone of those attacks were in the same war, the war in which I agreed would be the one time you could argue that Australian soldiers died protecting this country.

As I said to powerball, I get annoyed with myself when I get into extended internet arguements that go nowhere so I'm going to leave it at that - So have a good week, I hope you don't get yourself too riled up about meaningless things this week.

a final question:

Lol the old ACA line, yawn. People weren't pissed off at radiojake for saying the incident wasn't a big deal, it was his attitude towards 'the stupid memorial', clearly promoting his vile anti Australian and Western stance.

Oh, and I think you'll find at least 95% of diggers would be mighty angry about some drunk ****wit pissing on a war memorial.

I don't know, really... Probably wouldn't be happy if someone pissed on me, or on anyone else...

Or something like a front door that I had to use alot and it ended up stinking in the hot sun or something like that.

But my aggrievement would come down to how uncomfortable or unpleasant the said urinating actually had on me (or others)

I do understand the point I think radio jake is making

I wouldn't piss on a war memorial - or any other type of memorial got that matter and it's a pretty stupid thing to do. However, the level of outrage by some towards it is really kinda silly. I mean how does it actually impact somebody that some drop kick pissed on a block of concrete with some nice words on it

So many things in this world that are truly objectionable and people rant over something comparatively meaningless that doesn't physically hurt anyone nor permanently deface anything

Sure it's just a block of concrete to some, but to others it's much more than that. Do you think war memorials are stupid like radiojake does by the way?
