Also, I'm surprised at those who complain about it, because it must mean they trawl through every single post on their feed.

I check mine one to a few times a day, check the trending topics on the side, scroll down quickly and that's it.

I have someone appearing on the 'People you may know' thing and I have no idea how Facebook would know that I know this person It's not someone I have any mutual Facebook friends with I've never has any communication with this person online in any way. I have met them and so I do know them in that sense but how the heck would Facebook link me to them

At a guess, they've searched you and visited your profile? At least that's what I've thought when it's happened to me.

If your friends have mutual friends with their friends, chances are they'll pop up in your 'people you may know' FB doesn't really need a strong connection to link two people lol

When confronted with the answer 'they have an algorithm, that's how they know' people with limited education (Like yours truly) just say 'of course, that's it' and change the subject, coz people like me are scared of algorithms, and rarely know what a ****ing algorithm is. It's not a dance style, that I know.

On the right side in the list of friends for messaging, I see that the majority of the people at the top of the list are people that I talk to regularly. But in the mix are also people that I have never talked to, or stalked on Facebook. Is there are reason they are high up on the list?

I've done that but when I click "view as" I can still see all the photos.
It would seem that I need to individually change each photo to private (I have over 1000 on there so that's not an option) OR delete all the photos and upload a new, private album. Balls.

That seems strange, I have my profile set to friends only and all anyone else can see are my cover photos and profile pics including all previously used ones as there is no way to make these private I don't think. Are you sure this is not what you are seeing?
