The people who post how great their life is on social media is actually the opposite, they are overcompensating because their life is actually sad.
In that case, I should get FB and be posting (or whatever its called on FB) 25 hours a day. Instead, I post random crap on BF.

What's wrong with that video? Brah seems like he was just having a lot of fun

Not even a little bit true. This is just something people say/think when they are jelly of people living it up and posting about it online.

I can't believe how low some people will stoop. People are trolling those two 18 year old drag racers who died on their FB pages... it's disgusting.
Disgusting. The only people who will see it are people who cared for them and are currently hurting.

They are 18 year old inexperienced drivers, well one was just a passenger, they made a silly mistake and paid the ultimate price. It's pathetic to say they should know better etc. when they are already dead. Makes me sick. And they are posting pics of the burnt out wreck, calling them idiots etc. Things they would never do in person.

Trolls gonna troll.

Sorry to crush your theory but it's true, I'm fairly well travelled and I go on two overseas holidays a year. They are USA and Europe this year and once I'm holidays I don't even bother with social media. I don't need to experience my holidays through a lens/gopro as I have my own eyes to do that... All that guy is doing is trying to make out he is great and searching for likes.

Facebook is a good source for backing up photos and videos taken on tour in the event of something going wrong with the camera or the SD card etc.

I have used Facebook and Flickr a lot to back up stuff in case I lose it.

Luckily now there are a lot better, easier and quicker ways to back up your photos rather than using facebook. If people want to spend portions of their holiday looking through a screen uploading photos then that's their prerogative.

I for one love taking a picture of the bottom half my legs on a beach when I'm on holiday just so know people know it's my photo, without the legs they'd never guess it was me!

Nah people who post a lot on social media are attention seekers regardless of how good a life they have
Exactly! If their life was so amazing, why would they need to tell everyone about it. The people who do, need reassurance or some kind of validation in what they do.

That guy is really not doing anything special. A lot of people can travel. A lot of people in Australia can make that sort of video without breaking the bank. Most of those people never put it on FB trying to show everyone how great their life is though.

You blokes are a little out of the loop...

This guy is not showing off, he is building up a fan base to profit from. Anyone who is able to attract followers on any social network (youtube, insta, facebook etc..) are able to profit handsomely from it and/or make the most of a few promo deals.

He now has 16K followers on Insta (More than quite a few AFL footballers - who often find themselves promoting brands and restaurants for free shit), which would start to entitle him to some pretty nice promo deals, and considering his first video was only uploaded 4 months ago, he is doing pretty well for himself thus far.

If you want highly compressed/low quality backups then sure.

I don't mind the one off post. Stuff like "At Music Festival today."

But when they're posting updates every 5 minutes from a party it's blindingly obvious it's all about attention. If you were truly having a good time, you wouldn't even be thinking about Facebook.

I went OS a few times last year and actually didn't post anything about the holidays at all, cause I hate all the w***ers on my FB who post only when on holiday. Bit dumb, I'm sure a few people might have enjoyed some photos but would have felt like a hypocrite tbh.
