Bizzare......it's the best way to describe it. Austin is named as an emergency. Why would you elevate him and not play him? Unless there is a late change and we are playing cat and mouse?

Anyway, Sherman, Wallis and Veszpremi are the ins. Liberatore and Dickson miss out.

Side looks ok overall, I'm glad we have stuck with the talls, I think we can cope down back. Cordy can be used there if required also.

Bit more pace about it with one less inside mid.

we will never compete until we can develop at least another 3 quality talls, mainly to play up forward .

I dont mind playing Ayce even though he as average last week, he is a long term prospect and the sooner we get him, Jones, Libba, Wallis to 50 games the better

Im disappointed that Libba has been dropped, I would rather keep playing him for the experience even though he was not at his best last week. Surley a couple of the senior players can take the responsibility and get dropped from such a poor performance
Out: B Lake (suspended), T Liberatore (soreness), C Smith (soreness)

Well, on the channel 7 post game show Jay Clark has said Marko might be a late withdrawal tomorrow, under an injury cloud. The Austin promotion makes A LOT more sense now.

Also very concerning that our only key backman might be a bloke that's playing his first game for the club.

Very concerning is an understatement. We aren't having any luck with our defenders this year.

Do you think it is worth putting Grant or Jones back and see how they go and revert our forward line to something that the opposition can't predict. I would love to see Murphy even start forward to throw opposition into some sort of pannick.

If Jones went back we wouldn't have anyone to take a mark in our forward line, so I'd prefer him to stay down there.
Grant you could send back, but I would question is ability to impact on anything substantial down there.

I'd like Murph to go forward too, but our backline would lose too much, imo.

So we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Yeah fair enough, just get the the thought opposition teams are finding it too easy knowing we rate Jones's marking ability. At the start of the game throw them for a loop and start the at opposite ends?

If anyone wants to come over and visit the gameday thread on the Demons board, I've just posted a comprehensive rundown with more info to follow on from the earlier preview writeup, at http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=935280

Would any of you rather support Fitzroy?

Of course, you could always support the Fitzroy Football Club as we are now, in the VAFA, in addition to your AFL club loyalty, like I do ;)
