Henry you have been warned once about getting antsy so please calm down and stick to the debate if thats possible or you risk being carded. (just kidding boss)

I dont require any sympathy votes.

Its a football forum and I dont cry myself to sleep at night over it and not bothered if my opinion is a minority. In fact I am only posting because there is nothing on t.v and my missus is at work.

I quite like the fact that these threads actually give an insight to the passion that there is out there.

I prefer to keep away form threads such as "Is Cyril the next Garry Ablett" or some of the beauties that were floating around about Buddy recently.

I keep reading theories about our game plan being stuffed, why Buddy is not firing etc etc etc.

By putting the 08 team up and making reference to one player actually moving forward points to a whole lot of issues as to why this is.

See the one thing I do is listen and watch our coaching staff very closely because they give away all the informantion that is required.

After the Dogs game Clarkson made reference to our injury list at least 4 times in the after match press conference. You keep saying there is no problem but those in the know clearly think differently.

I look forward to the end of the season and an apology from you when the changes occur.

cheers.

LMR

Leo welcome aboard mate.

Its a forum and people have opinions. Do you think that 20% of what is posted on here is based on fact or fiction?

Seriously tho welcome aboard and remember not everything you are going to read on Bigfooty will actually be true. Hope this helps.

I believe 80% of your earlier post has incorrect information.
I believe Caroline Wilson has 80% of her information incorrect
I believe most information on BF to be incorrect or half truths.

check your facts dude...you're saying things and relating things to the medical staff which either arent related or have been misrepresented to prove your...um... your point... everyone gets angry when we lose- but where the club is at now is infinitely more complex than just the performance of a medical team (which has success stories left right and centre...)

Did you miss the interview with Clarkson where he said players were asked to bulk up last year and played over weight which was a major blunder from the fitness and coaching staff?

I am sure you heard that one Rod.

It's worth keeping in mind that every poster is responsible for what they post.

Also, opinions are great, we all have one, but agendas are something else.

Football is not static mate, it's evolutionary, and it's evolving more and more all the time.

The stats from all the matches this year show that players are not just running, but sprinting for 12% more of the game than they did last year.

In my mind, that will stand us in much better stead as the year goes on.

None of the guys you mentioned there have missed games through soft tissue injuries have they?

There are few issues you're painting with the same brush:

1) The number of games missed through injury (e.g. hooper, gibson etc)
2) The management of severe injuries such as Croad's foot, Youngy's ankle/hip/whatever it was
3) The conditioning of players such as Buddy, Lewis and Hodge.

I think the three need to be spoken about separately.

Obviously you'll agree that injuries such as Sewell's broken collarbone, Taylor's broken leg and Burgoyne's jaw are not part of the problem. I wonder what would happen if those three had played all games year to date? I'd suggest we'd have at least one extra win, if not two. Would we be having this conversation then I wonder?

Well, I heard that interview, but I'm not certain you and I heard the same thing.

You listed Lewis as playing overweight last year - that wasn't mentioned in the interview you mention, the interview discussed Franklin & Hodge playing a bit heavier than their 08 weights (note: not playing OVERWEIGHT).

Also, the interview I heard I'm sure Clarko said it was a coaching staff decision, not a fitness and conditioning staff decision.

I've personally given up reading the Medical Debate thread due to the intransigence of yourself, Real Hawk and Captain Hodgey.

Despite absolute first class posts containing inside information from the likes of Roswell you guys just put on the blinkers and throw up the same stuff - your side of the debate hasn't moved an inch despite 200 odd posts.

Try a new subject for a while LMR, its going nowhere.

You mean Franklin and Hodge (not all players), they have been the only two clarkson talked about. they were not "asked" to bulk up however I believe Hodge playing in the backline meant he could afford a little more weight to help out against the big boys, this would not have occured if he was to play midfield. Clarko has stated all this in interviews.

you will note that steve johnson also had a "weight" issue in 2007 also in the early part of the season and has since improved his consistency. no-one was sacked over that. player responsability.

100% correct on lewis, no difference in 08 & 09. acutally the shoulder surgery from memory stripped some weight/muscle off him, remember he looked thin across the shoulders early on.

I can still here the axe grinder spinning...or is that my little one crying?? night all..

Guys i think this discussion has been done to death in the other thread. For me its getting tiresome and to be honest some are trying to use it as an excuse for our performances and in doing that looking for scapegoats.

It is just unhawthorn like. We all love the hawks and we are all in this together so lets stick together like a family. When the going gets tough as they say...

Time to pull the finger out stop with the whingeing about our injuries toughen up and focus on some of the players that will be playing for the might brown and gold this weekend. Not just for hawthorn but for box hill as well.

Go you hawkers

I reckon you're right mate, however I reckon there are a few blokes who are pushing their own barrow, for whatever reason, and the largely silent majority are going to be subjected to these unsubstantiated allegations week in, week out.

As you say, it's been up and about for quite some time now and not one piece of evidence has been produced - all we have is the slander of people's professional reputations, shit, it's the internet - but that isn't good enough for me.

You're right TAITA, this thread is done.

We let it roll to see if anything new would be brought to the table, but nothing has been. There is no new angle, or a decent discussion that has arisen, so we're back to the medical debate thread and the rules of engagement there.
