As a matter of curiosity, did Dew come on board around the time of our away game against Adelaide when Fages was in a bad way and contemplating having a break...was there a bit of Plan B thinking happening?

Whilst that is true, he isnt the man to bring us the flag. Fremantle were in a sinilar situation to Ross Lyon. Ross is good at building a team up but cant elevate them. Fagan is the same. If freo had the balls to get rid of Ross in their prime they would have won a flag. If we had the balls to get rid of Fagan we would win the flag.

Bookmark this post. I been saying the same thing for the last 3 years to people before I came back here. We will not win a flag under Fagan and in 3 years will regret not replacing him when we were in our window.

We would have a flag under Clarkson, under Hardwick, under Horse. Under Scott. The list is too talented. Fagan has done all he can. Time to go.

I think the Taylor Smith trade probably highlights the differences between the Lions and Suns to some degree. She was very much a raw undeveloped product when we got her but the potential was there once she grew into her frame. It seemed like the Suns weren’t prepared to wait and see her develop slowly, rather because she couldn’t deliver then and there, she got moved on for cheap. Now she is a two time premiership player and still probably not at her peak.

It might be part of the pressure the Suns feel to be seen to make tough decisions to show they mean business like a serious footy club. At a time they could have used Lyons the most, they gave him away, similar with Ah Chee who has just played a starring role in a premiership winning finals campaign. In contrast the Lions kept Lester because they recognised his value in a number of ways. It turned out he hadn’t yet reached his peak as a player and now, he has a premiership medal. I doubt he would have lasted long at Gold Coast.
