Sounds like it might be about getting the defenders to attack more and the forwards to defend better. Can’t hurt and after analysing opposition defensive structures as a forwards coach for a few years, you probably have some insights into what works that you can implement. And vice versa.

We’re blessed that no other club has tried to poach Jed Adcock.

Should be more blessed that no-one has ever poached our greatest line coach (Murray Davis) since the Vossy days :praying:

The Brisbane Lions are thrilled to welcome AFL Premiership player Dale Morris to their coaching team in 2023.

Morris, who played 253 matches at AFL level, which included winning the Flag in 2016 with the Western Bulldogs, joins the Lions as Development Coach.

The former All Australian retired at the end of 2019 after a decorated 15 year playing career with the Bulldogs, before transitioning into the role of their Development Coach in 2020.

Morris will work alongside a new-gigged coaching team at the Lions, with former Forwards Coach Jed Adcock and Murray Davis, previously Backline Coach, switching roles.

Cameron Bruce retains the position of Midfield Coach and will add the Stoppage Coach role to his mix, taking over from Ben Hudson, who’s been appointed Head Coach of the Lions VFL side. In addition, Hudson will still work with the ruck men.

Mitch Hahn has been appointed Head Coach of the Lions AFL Academy, while former Brisbane Lions AFLW Premiership Captain, Emma Zielke, remains in Chris Fagan’s team as part of the AFL Women's Coach Acceleration Program, as Lions AFLW Academy Head Coach.

Rounding out the engine room is Mark Stone, who will continue as Strategy Coach.

I assume there would have been some discussions with Josh Dunkley about this appointment-just ticking boxes type input.

Marcus Adams maybe had a say as well, regarding the appointment of Morris.

Interesting that we had a mids coach and a stoppage coach as well. Might explain why the stoppages always seemed a little disconnected. The amount of times teams got forward of the stoppage on us from a centre bounce was staggering.
I think Ben Hudson May have been the Ruck/Stoppage Coach?

Was about to post the same thing here.

Now that Bruce has solo-custody of midfield and stoppage, let's see what he can do next season.

I kinda feel a bit sorry for Mitch Hahn actually, feels a bit like a demotion.
But I think he has done a great job with the NEAFL/VFL team over the last 5 or 6 years I think he has been there.🙁
