What the SRP board and why would you be permanently be banned? I don't get why anyone would be banned permanently from anything on bigfooty unless you were posting pornography, openly abusing and racially vilifying someone or being sexist, bullying and those sorts of things, but hurting somoenes feelings on a particularly subject just seems ridiculous. I love your views and posting style Mr Malice.Never felt the need to put anyone on ignore and never have despite some pretty heated discussion on mostly the SRP board which I have been permanently banned from, doesn't worry me one iota, .... se la vie.
Yes. Mr Malice is not malicious at all. Always in a good mood and puts up some intelligent and insightful stuff.

I wont bore everyone with it and bring it to this part of our board but if you go to The Den... "Coronavirus Disease(Covid-19) 2020" thread and read my posts over the last 2 pages of that thread you will get the gist of why I was banned, particularly for post number #2747.

iirc correctly at the time it was more along the lines of posting the same thing on about 10 threads or something like that (that's what he posted on here anyway)

And then gets you banned? So you could say 3KZ should be banned for loving Lester and posting about him everywhere - not that I disagree -I love Lester as well, but who really cares on a forum of all places. People can ignore people, not that I do , I love everyones view even if I dont agree, no need to ban ppl tho. Imagine having that sort of power of a footy forum and taking yourself that seriously to ban a good chap like Mr Malice for posting the same thing in multiple places - extraordinary.
Thanks for the kind words McIvor, the banning doesn't worry me, there are plenty of other places online that were pointed out to me via PMs to go to if I wanted to.
The decisions re banning on Big Footy are about as consistent and sometimes make as much sense as the AFL tribunal system.

if rutten is gone from essendon could we land him as an assistant? defence assistant at richmond for a period up until their first flag and might be looking to escape melbourne fishbowl after how hard the blowtorch has been applied to him this year. think we could do a lot worse

After the attention to detail (or lack thereof) his team showed in the final minutes of the Collingwood game, I'd think not. Currently we need the exact reverse: coaches who emphasise the importance of all those little moments, and the differences they can make to the outcome of a game.

some people just dont seem up to it as head coaches but thrive as assistants (look at leppa). think a lot of the issues at essendon can be attributed to lack of buy in by the playing group and a collection of absolute pea heart midfielders (people who say our mids won't run both ways - watch an essendon game...). the groundworks for the richmond defensive system where they set up so that theyre in good position even if they lose clearances can at least be partly attributed to his time there, would love for a similar defensive system similar with us to complement our already excellent offensive game to be developed

You make a good argument, and I agree RE different skill sets for different coaching roles etc. We clearly need some work on our defensive setup, which is a funny thing to say after only conceding 9 goals on Friday night. But it's the way we concede so easily in bursts that is concerning.
It takes me back to the 2020 Qualifying Final, when it was the 20 minutes in the second quarter where we were forced to defend relentlessly yet only gave up 1 goal. To me that's where the game was won, rather than the 3 goals in 2 minutes we kicked to end the quarter. Would love to see us replicate that desperation and discipline, and I think we need to if we are serious about succeeding.

Do we make a statement, sack him give us the bye week to find someone who can coach
Fagan and the coaches really have to go at the end of the season. There is absolutely no rational argument for him staying. The only possible argument you could make is "oh he deserves it, he's taken us so far." In reality, we are boring, stagnant, have no work rate, and are flat track bullies. Thank you Fages for getting the club back into shape, but he is not the one that will win a premiership with us.

Okay that's a bit far for mine. I don't agree with sacking Fages in any scenario but I truthfully believe we need a change up and I'd like to see some kind of assistant coach handover after Fagan's contract.
No idea what that would look like, who that would be but time to start thinking about it, as painful as it is..
Sack him, ASAP. We've gone as far as we can and we're just wasting time until the next coach who might be able to bring us further.

I think the right thing to do is just to allow him to coach the finals and then get let go, he deserves that much. We don't want to go full Essendon here.
