Sounds like I am being heartless when I say this (though I'm not intending it), but I reckon employers who require drug tests probably get people claiming innocence when they return a positive result all the time. Given false positives are fairly rare, although very possible, they probably can't be stuffed paying for a secondary test and messing up their recruitment process for the sake of one person claiming innocence.

No excuse for them being pricks on the phone though.

Really unlucky dUkezz.

kings transport

I work for a company that uses Kings Transport and they are by far the most useless dodgiest Transport going around.

They even sign for a Customers stock to say its been delivered and it just vanishes!

You dodged a bullet working for those scumbags.

Wow! That actually makes me feel good hearing that, I think I certainly have. Cheers for that!

Will second that. They were the freight company my previous employer used when I first started work with them, after about 6 months I gave them the arse. Every job was charged a detention fee and I figured that was the only way drivers could make money.

Do they keep parcels back after school and make them write lines :D

Not sure if anyone would give a stuff but I just completed my medical test for my new job and PASSED. Starting my new job on Wednesday, been a long process but finally there is a god.
Good on ya mate.

I'm late to this debate since I've only just discovered this part of the forum, but for the record, we do a lot of pre-employment drug testing at the medical practice I work at. The process is as follows:

Initial testing is done on the premises. In our practice they are conducted by a nurse. Test kits are very sensitive and don’t miss much, but false positives do occur. Negative results are accepted as valid.

If there is a positive result, the doctor or nurse will speak to the applicant and take a more detailed history to see if he/she has consumed anything which might account for the result.

2 duplicate specimens are then procured, signed and sealed, and sent off the to the toxicology lab for further testing by GCMS. (Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.) This testing is highly specific and does not (rarely – never say never) produce any false positive results. (It’s also quite expensive, which is why it isn’t usually done first up.)

Testing is done on only one of the duplicate specimens. The other is retained and is available to you, should you wish to challenge the result. You can take it to an accredited lab of your choice for your own testing. It is sealed and is tamper-proof. If the results are not consistent – well, I’m not sure. I’ve never heard of that happening.

This should all have been explained to you. If Kings did not follow these procedures, they would be open to challenge. If you could be bothered.

Congrats and good luck with the new job.
