Leonard also arrived via a trade as well, so your thoughts on that?
Where did the Spurs draft George Hill?

They may have not won with him, but they have ZERO chance without him. The trade was purely financial, owners with that mindset shouldnt be allowed to own teams, the priority should be giving your club the best chance to win. Gay whilst inconsistent at times will be a future star.
Doubt it, at best he'll be a number 2 on a contender

liverpool
49ers
spurs

interesting.
Followed all my teams for 20 years, look at my AFL and MLB teams.

Liverpool have underachieved my whole life, 49ers were shit for close to 10 years before Harbs joined, David Robinson is my fave NBA player of all time. Also follow the Dallas Stars who are nothing special.

Got confused did i?

San Antonio were smart enough to realise they couldn't afford to pay Hill when he come out of contract the following season so they traded him for a player who would fill a big area of need. Drafting a player late in the first round and trading them for a pick in the middle of the first round a couple of seasons later is incredibly smart business.

What everyone wants to know though is what with LAL do when Kobe hangs them up?
Will Howard leave in a couple of months?
Will Nash retire when he realises he's not going to win a championship?
Will Pau be traded or will LAL just keep him and watch his trade value go down by the day?
Will Mike D'Antoni stay? LOL
Will Jerry Buss hang around and continue making incredible inane decisions?
And most importantly what stupid thing will Ron Artest do next?

Good times ahead.

so what if the lakers are crap this year. been there before, seen plenty of poor laker seasons. seen more subpar seasons than you have with the spurs.

you seem obsessed with the lakers. you only post in this thread, contribute nothing on weekly threads and it is becoming clear to all and sundry you are merely a troll.

how is it anyone who follows a "big" successful club's fault you happened to pick teams that are useless? good on you for sticking with them but the lakers have had sub par years a plenty, jerry buss makes things happen to get out of the bad situation though, if anything maybe more teams should take a leaf out of franchises like the lakers, new york brooklyn etc, who spend big and trade aggressively to be successful.

How about drafting good players instead of stealing from the weaker teams?

Problem with that is though, there is only so many good players, and even less players of a championship winning calibre. If they have been smart enough in the past and are now lucky enough to live off that history, and lets face it the city they are based in and it's lifestyle as well, then I feel the time to get angry about it was a long time ago.

It isn't going to change while Bean Warrior is still there and probably also while Mitch is there.

Now it's just what is expected of them, just sit back and enjoy that for this year at least it may have* backfired.

They've also supplied NBA bandwagoners with a steady consistent choice for around 20 years :D

*I am not Nostradamus.

congratulations, you got me and one other laker fan to bite. you may not be aware but i heap shit on the organisation more than you do. ask anyone on the board - Vincent Chase, Messenger, PHX, BoshtrichBurger, nbaman1

not sure where your hatred of the club stems from. certainly strange behaviour to be obsessed with one club to the extent that you only comment on them and no one else. pre season prediction was that we wouldnt make the playoffs. a prediction that will come to fruition.

as you are new to the board ill give you the benefit of the doubt, you are not a troll. but this thread is reaching bay 13 levels.

MadTigerFan is just mad for some reason, when he should be happy his team is on the up and about. Use your devoted oxygen on the Spurs and in a positive manner instead of this stemming hatred of the Lakers.

You're sounding like Mike Brown if he was bitter about the Lakers sacking him.

The Lakers are indifferent to me. So are all the others clubs apart from the Bulls. It's more about the players that go there. I liked the Lakers when Magic ran the show because Magic was so likeable and the basketball they played was so entertaining. I also liked the Lakers when they had Nick the Quick and Eddie Jones and kinda sucked. But since Kobe's arrival ive gone off them. Pau is soft and Dwight is a mercenary. I hated Shaq when he played but then later in his career and now his retirement I have realised that I love the big fella and the league misses him. He never ceases to make me laugh.

I can't stand Kobe Bryant, words can't describe my hatred for him. Even more since he demanded the team trade Bynum or he be traded himself after they struggled when Shaq left.

Don't even really care anymore, we do this every season then fall over in the playoffs, wish we could just find a young big man to help out Timmy, can't see us winning it all unless we get better defensively inside.

you have now clearly highlighted the fact you are a troll, rather than have a legitimate discussion your petulance has lost you any credibility.

I think somebody covered it on the last page. Knew the girl that Kobe...

Or it's Mike Brown himself. :p

Maybe you should trade for one?

How about drafting good players instead of stealing from the weaker teams?

Like Liverpool did with Joe Allen, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Suarez, Agger, Reina, Sturridge ... oh wait

Only 3 games from .500 ball. Utah, Houston and Portland might have something to worry about.

No surprises which team has the best record in the NBA, pity playoffs have to be played.

Maybe you should trade for one?
If we offered a couple of draft picks and some players like Stephen Jackson, DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter for a big we'd be laughed at. Not every team is fortunate enough to be able to take shortcuts.
