Multiplat Fallout 3

Fallout 3 was great, but as I spent so much time playing Fallout 2 back in the day and with New Vegas being the continuation I prefer it. Ceasar's Legion were good to join/fight against and the reputation system for each township/area/faction made it feel closer to the old Fallout games than Fallout 3. I do miss centaurs and floaters though, which would have been awesome in New Vegas.

I did enjoy the Enclave being the enemy in Fallout 3, after Fallout 2 you weren't sure if there were any survivors.

Bring on 4!

I remember thinking back early in 2012 that surely a new fallout game will be out by the end of the year. My rationale was that there was a new game at the end of 2008 and 2010 so that means there will be one in 2012. Still waiting patiently. When it does get announced, It will be the only game I will have ever counted down the days until its release. Hopefully it gets announced at E3 next year and comes out before X-mas 2015.

In the mean time, planning on playing FO3 again with a bunch of mods. :thumbsu:

Game just got a 500mb patch on Xbox. How strange.

Next-gen compatability patch?

Here's an explanation. Also why we likely won't see a patch on Playstation.

...The move comes more than a year after Microsoft acquired Bethesda Game Studios' parent company—and months after Microsoft paid that acquisition forward by adding Fallout 3 to its increasingly massive Xbox Game Pass service. If you grab Fallout 3's PC version via Xbox Game Pass today, however, you're in for the rude awakening of a required 43GB installation, since the game forces players to download multiple spoken-language packs without an option to disable or uninstall extraneous ones...

Probably my favourite game of all-time, with New Vegas, when I consider impact and initial feelings. That's why I always have it installed on my Xbox's and PC's to even notice the patch.

I'll post this question here, I've never played a fallout game.

I don't have time to play through them all, do the story carry through each game?
If you can only play one which fallout is the best one?

You can start them from anywhere. Technically 4 is probably the best place to start, as it's the most modern but I would definitely recommend starting at 3, then NV. Both amazing games. All timers.

Can start with any of them, I'd go with New Vegas though. It's probably the easiest to get the hang of first up, 3 is darker and more indoors, you could get a bit lost there.

90 hours I put in and it could've been more. That's including DLC too. Longer than NV

What did you do in those 90 hours? I never played the DLC for 3 but from memory last last couple runs through the main game with all side quests were about 40 odd hours. I haven't touched NV since PS3 but I think I was around 60 hours.

Explore, stuff around, what one usually does in Fallout. But my 90 hours was small fry compared to other posters on here.

Yeah, I've put 100's of hours into that game and probably into one save. If you want to do EVERYTHING, it'll take you a long time. There's content hidden everywhere.

Fallout 3 is also pretty short (can be very, very short if you explore early...) so can also be a good place to start.
If you simply go for the main story it probably can be completed in around 7 hours.

However playing Fallout games is more about going off track from the main story line and exploring the world and it's locations. Doing that you could get about 100 hours worth of game play for Fallout 3.

Never actually played Fallout 3

Loved New Vegas and FO4 is one of my favourite games ever. Fallout 76 was ok

Is it worth me going back and playing this? Will it still stack up?

Fallout 3 isn’t too far of New Vegas, if you like NV and 4 you should like 3.
