Got Deacon's perk last night and now have McCready following me around. Intentionally saved the Bobby No-nose, warehouse and Covenant missions to help get a few more affinity points from him.

Found instead of being a complete schlub and farming the points, I just quicksave and load whenever they like something and continue on which is far less frustrating.

With Deacon's perk and I've got 2 pieces of chameleon armour and all the covert magazines I'm going to start investing in the ninja and sandman perks to **** people up stealthily.

I did that with Cait. Every time I picked a lock, I saved and reloaded. I pick a lot of locks so it was pretty quick. Can't get any where near the Vault that she wants me to go to yet. Got owned by robots.
The assaultrons at that joint are pretty crazy. Sneak attack them with something with massive damage, preferably in the legs because that stops them sprinting at you and messing you up.

Cait loves drugs. Take lots of drugs. You can basically make yourself invincible and just own everyone.

Don't forget sneak. Ninja or sandman are effectively pointless (for their sneak damage multiplier) if you are detected. They only trigger when you are hidden. So having the high level sneak perk will keep you undetected for longer and allow you to do multiple sneak kills

Also you won't trigger mines etc any more

LoL I take out one leg with my 44 and then they start crawling on the ground like the terminator. Pretty funny.

Didn't think about that, will have to get it sorted.

I did this mission with Danse, killed everything then i went back to the settlement and swapped Danse for Cait. Came back and finished the end of the mission with her

Wow that was a slog, finally managed to 'finish' this bad boy - don't know if I'll go back to clean up side quests and stuff, at least not for awhile need a break. Such a dense game.

Not that the story was ever amazing, but geez it kinda fell apart towards the end.

Went with the Railroad, still not sure why the Brotherhood declared war on them? Decided to betray the Institute, went to tell my Railroad peeps, nek minnit the Brotherhood are storming the place after no other troubles that I can remember.

Would have also liked some more options with the Institute considering the family link, something between blind allegiance and complete betrayal would have been good.

The brotherhood eventually get sick of the railroad as they primarily help escaped synths, and the brotherhood hate synths.

I think the brotherhood mention a few times that the railroad may have to be "dealt with".

Zimonja was shit to build on and settlers struggle to walk there. I think there is stairs or something they cant path around. I sent 3 settlers there and never saw them again.

I want to continue playing this game, but:

-I accidentally chose the Brotherhood instead of the Railroad by doing the ending too early
-Going back to a point before I did the ending means I have to re-do a heap of missions
-Going back to the start will take too long.

So I ruined the game for myself by doing the ending early.

Just on this - at what point have I "chosen" my faction? I accidentally spoke to the railroad about the invention and now Tinker Tom has to make it for me. I haven't really chosen yet, right?
Nope

You get a warning when you get to the point of no return. You can be allied with the brotherhood, railroad, minutemen and institute at the same time...right up until a certain mission

Phew, cheers.

I'm spending so much time trying to get all the companion perks right now I didn't want to miss out on getting Danse, would've pissed me right off.

I dont mind building on Zimonja as I have done it before with some fiddiling of floor panels. Just like how red rocket is pretty much the home for you..

Just fyi...i would do danse soon. Very soon

And Deacon if you haven't already. You are getting close to crunch time

Yeah got Deacon's. Apparently I have to wait for another BoS mission to become available to get Danse? Not sure who orders it though or how it loads.

Have you joined the brotherhood? If you have then he is available as a companion on the airship. If you haven't visited the airship (but saw it after completing the kellogg mission), open your pip boy radio and find the BoS transmission, it will start the quest to go to the BoS airship

Yeah well and truly done that. Apparently I have to wait for Marxson to order the "Blind Betrayal" mission. I keep going back to the airship but he just tells me he's busy.

Ok so I'm torn since I got a new gun last night, which one?

The Staggering one is unbelievably good against big creatures and ghouls, actually slows them down a fair bit. But the extra 25% damage and limb damage from the violent one is so tempting.

Yep definitely limb damage.

But ignore both and go buy the overseers guardian combat rifle from Combes in Vault 81. It shoots 2 bullets at a time (while only taking one bullet from your inventory). So double damage basically

Once specced up its a beast.

Its one of the best guns in the game, certainly the best combat rifle. And it isn't super expensive
