Yeah I think you may struggle quite a bit. I always save the DLC stuff for later on. Once you can handle downtown DC (about level 10-15) then you could start venturing out to do the DLC stuff although I don't usually do The Pitt until around level 20. Point Lookout is a pain no matter the level- the swamp people are ridiculously overpowered IMO and even at level 30 they are hard to kill.

My main problem is I don't really know wtf I'm doing. I got goty so idk what's dlc what's not. I'm just running around trying not to die. Although I did raid a supermarket

'The Local Flavor,' 'Into the Pitt,' 'Aiding the Outcasts' and 'Not of this World' are all the DLC quests. Avoid them until level 15+.

The Wasteland Survival Guide quest (I'm assuming you're doing that if you're raiding the supermarket) is a good introduction to the game, although some later parts of the quest can get quite tough.

There are another two side-quests which you should be able start in Megaton. Neither are particularly difficult.

Once you've feel confident enough, continue with the main quest 'Following in his Footsteps.'

Running around aimlessly is a lot of the appeal of Fallout. It's difficult on early levels, but some of the best jokes/stories/weapons in the game will be in locations nowhere near the main quest.

If you have a previous save form before The Pitt I'd reload that and go from there.

Personally, the first things I do after leaving the vault are go straight to Megaton and speak with Moira to start the Wasteland Survival Guide quest, explore the immediate area to add places to the map and get some xp, head to Tenpenny Tower and start the quest you get at the gate, then once I hit about level 5 I'll raid the Supermarket as part of the survival guide quest. After that I try to level up a couple of levels to get my explosives high enough to disarm the bomb so that I get the house in Megaton to use as a base. By that time I'll usually be around level 8-10 and I'll then casually start making my way to the DC ruins to Galaxy News Radio. After that it's different every time. That's just me though and it's up to you to play however you want to play.

Your best bet is to follow a guide until you get the hang of it. Almost every guide will say go from the vault to Megaton and avoid the DC ruins until at least level 10. Although the best part of RPGs (and one of the fun things about playing one for the first time) is it's up to you to figure out how to play it and what to do. IGN guides are usually pretty good.

My two biggest tips are to loot everything and sell it. It's the easiest and best way to make caps early in the game. Also find a guide that tells you what items to keep a hold of as there are some (scrap metal, sugar bombs, teddy bears etc.) that have special quests or a particular NPC that gives you a higher amount of caps or other items such as ammo, stimpacks, chems etc. for them. That is where having the base in Megaton comes in handy as you can store them there.

On reddit they are claiming the release date has been changed, forwarded by a day so the 9th. Anyone from Mebourne able to log into steam and tell me what time it says its being released now ?

Cheers

Apparently people are walking into Best Buys in the states and picking up Pre orders already due to staff being morons.

Seems to be a ridiculously large amount of people getting this game early.

I'm surprised they have stock this early.
