This game should have a scrap all function. Whenever I return to town after completing a quest, first thing I do is drop about 50 items on the ground, then painfully select them one by one to scrap. Then I have to repeat the process for my companions junk.
God I love hearing that goofy soundbite. Helps that my INT is at 1 too (along with all other stats besides Strength, Endurance and Luck all maxed)
Anybody else playing pure melee? I was struggling from levels 1-12 but with the rooted perk I pretty much one hit most things these days with my bladed aluminum baseball bat.
And I can take a beating too, the game is almost too easy now lol.
Trying to build the Sanctuary up. Only 10 people in it. I have got a weapons shop there so hopefully that helps. Ive been using Piper as my main companion.
Int is at 6 and have liked the look of idiot savant but every time I level up I have instead chosen to stick roughly to my original build path. Worth still picking up the perk at level level 17 (currently 16) and 6 int? The reddit posted above says there are still positive returns on the prof rate but I can't be stuffed resorting to save scumming every time I want to hand a mission in.

I'm at 10 Int and it's still worth it. Just a bit of bonus XP every so often. IMO it's pretty easy to level up until you hit around the level 30 mark, so why not go for it?
If i read that idiot savant graph correctly, if you have that perk and 5 INT, you'll level up 17% quicker. So at level 40....thats like an extra 5 levels or so if you get the perk earlyish.
5 more opportunities to level up and add 5 more perks!
Definitely possible but tricky. I fiddled around with the different speech options for ages. I think you need to be wearing the Shroud Armour to save him (not 100% sure about that though.
Keep talking like the Shroud until the final speech option where there are two options that have a Charisma check (coloured speech options). Pick the one on the left that says something along the lines of 'shoot me first'. Now you've got to be lucky and pass the check. If you do you'll draw all the fire and Kent will be left there unharmed - just have to kill the Bandits.
In terms of rewards, he goes back home and is supposedly working on something big and you should keep listening to the radio for updates. I haven't listened yet so don't know what else happens, if anything. Apparently he will also upgrade the Shroud Armour.
Lol at everyone running idiot savant. If this game is anything like the other fallouts any perks that help with experience are wasted because you hit level cap before the end of the game anyway.
Unless they've changed it, then go for your lives.

Anyone discovered any weird bugs in their travels?
Early on in the game I was checking out the VATS options by using the system on Codsworth. Exited out of VATS, pressed the button to free aim instead... and was flung backwards over a house.
Fast traveled to Abernathy farm, settler was on the ground working on one of the plants, started discussion with him and he started standing up to chat to me, free-aimed my gun... and suddenly I was falling from 50 feet in the air.
Fast travelled to one of my settlements. Was a raider attacking as I got there, I went to free-aim my gun at him... and suddenly found myself landing on the ground in the next town over.
So yeah, Bethesda really doesn't like me free-aiming.
I've had that problem. Food and beds too. If you go back it'll show up as fine but when you fast travel it'll wreck it. I found if I built about 6 new beds it fixed the problem so maybe give that a go?
Some people on another forum have suggested this is a bug that most often than not shows when you fast travel from a settlement and their advice is to leave the settlement boundary before fast traveling out. Fast traveling in is fine.
I've got something like this. My defense is 16 but it shows up in my pip as needing to be addressed, with that exclamation mark next to it. I have 7 people, everything else is fine but no one new is coming in. I'm not sure if that's the reason they're not coming in or not though.
I've tried not fast traveling away and it makes no difference.
