Apparently...every bloody game released seems to have one, if they don't then they are broken (which I'm kind of expecting with Fallout 4 regardless of patch or not).

That's how every midnight launch I've ever done has done it. (Blackops2, GTA5 and batman Arkham knight)

There is a fair lag from when a game goes gold (ready for distribution) to sale. Allows a lot more time for testing during that delay.

I'd rather they find and fix any bugs in that time with a launch update than deliver a buggy game. Plus it means we get the game as soon as possible
