The girlfriend has confirmed that my PC copy has arrived! Now hopefully she can handle the install because I won't be home until after the midnight launch pick up with my other copies.

Wait. You got a tracking number?

people are being too literal about the 'recommended HD space' you see on steam. none of my games are as big as steam says they need to be. some are even half that amount.

Hows your internet speed, as after install, you will still need to download 20 plus gig

I get just under 2mb/s on Steam, normally.

Physical release

The physical PC release is to go into the Fallout 4 slipcover that came with the Fallout Anthology mini nuke. That mini nuke is easily my favourite video game piece I've seen. Had to finish it.

Yes, brother hasn't even had his money taken yet with no shipping notice.
I got an email saying it's shipped. And money got taken out instantly, but no tracking number.

Some massive overreactions in this thread already. Bethesda have been known to botch a console version of their games in the past so I wouldn't be surprised if sections of this game ran like horse shit. I took MB's post as more of a 'that's disappointing by Bethesda' rather than a 'PC's are the best' post.

There's every chance the PC version is buggy as all hell as well. We'll find out in the coming hours/days/months.

So tempted to lose some sleep and head to Southland EB midnight launch so I can come straight home tomorrow and get into it. Also have a couple jobs at work primed to troll me tomorrow forcing me to stay back past 5.
I'm going haha only saw they're having a midnight launch earlier today having lunch at south land

Worth jumping on the hype train without any prior knowledge or experience of the game/series?

Only ask because I watched the trailer & genuinely thought it looked really cool. Just unsure if it's one of those ones you need to have played the original or whatever.

Anyone know how big the download is with the physical copy of the game? When I throw the disc in later this week how much is on the DVD and how much do I need to download? Need to plan for that bandwidth.

I'm pretty much going in blind. Most people went in blind when they played Fallout 3, so we're only a game or two behind.

honestly, there are so few games these days that require any previous exposure i always say 'go for it'. it's not like you'd probably play the original 90s titles anyway?
