All day I kept clicking fallout and trying to somehow "trick" steam into letting me play.
I definitely have problems.

You buy the retail edition trying to avoid some of the download and they only give you one disc with 5gb of the 24gb game on it so have to download the rest when you could of just preloaded.

Haven't played too much but performance wise it seems fine with everything maxed out. Haven't had a chance to test whether it drops indoors. Gotta go to bed unfortunately, would love to keep playing

games unplayable because an hour after installing the game from DISK, i'm still ****ing downloading it!

2 hours in,

Verdict -

I made a fat ranga with the creeper hair cut and bad skin for the lulz.

I went for perception, intelligence and agility over endurance and strength with no luck or charisma at all, only time will tell if guns > melee but early combat hasn't really indicated what the best way to go is. If I had to make a guess I'd say melee combat because I can't seem to hit anything outside of VATS with my shitty guns but I've only sampled a 9mm and pipe gun thus far.

Only level 2 atm, don't really know what the go is with the perk system. Leveling didn't seem to give me access to perks only 1 point to upgrade a SPECIAL so I don't know if I missed something.

I look forward to seeing other people's first impressions when I check in tomorrow.
