Not happy that tonight is the last episode of the season. Way to much still to happen. Then the looong wait begins....

After a somewhat middling start (understandable with a few characters being all over the place), I think this season has been really good, and it is also good TV even if you never played Fallout (like me) and only have a vague awareness of the universe with its vaults and nuclear wasteland and monsters and ghouls roaming around.

I think the slow build-up is fine, allows them to flesh out the characters (especially Cooper this season), and once again will wait with keen anticipation for the next season...

Still enjoying the season but I think there's too many subplots and it's getting a bit convoluted with stuff like flashbacks within flashbacks.
Like Norm hasn't moved from the same spot he was strangled like 3 episodes ago now

NCR Ranger using the anti material rifle on a death claw was mint (always reccomend explosive 50 cal rounds), Mr House might have 2 more players, happy that Norm is still alive and awaiting what phase 2 will be.

Also Hanks like of the surface was the experiment goes hard.

It was a brilliant finale.

My favourite bit which you don't see that often in modern tv: when there's a chance for two characters to get expositional and explain the plot the way Netflix does, they just simply... didn't?

Lucy with Hank, Coop with House. They showed instead of told. And there's still plenty left unsaid which I appreciate.

Also there's a post-credits scene just in case anyone missed it!

House seems afraid of the Enclave which is setting them up as the big bad in s3 nicely. I think the Enclave pip boy looked slick as well.

Steph being Hank's wife probably tipped the whole thing into convoluted territory, tho

The Enclave is where the scientist escaped from with dog in S01E01?

The finale was good, but so many subplots made it feel janky with jumping around so often.
I agree, it was fine for one episode (5?) but to then keep shifting about for most of the season was jarring. When you're keeping track of plots and subplots and different timeframes it's an active viewing experience.

That was an Enclave scientist in season 1, makes you wonder what they did or didn't manage to do with cold fusion for 200ish years since Coop handed it over, and what happened to the Enclave when it was removed.

Oh man I thought there was another episode still and this was the 2nd last one!
obviously in hindsight I am a moron, as it tied off a few things and opened up other teases which is always the go for a finale...

I just had in my head for some reason that it was the 2nd last one, so was disappointed that it wasn't when i realised

Usually a good script and director make you feel as if you are rushing to a climax where all parties meet in the same room

This felt like a jumble of interconnected people being used to stretch out the non-existent tension ie ooh is Coop about to step into a room and - CUT TO VEGAS STRIP - and we fight deathclaws and will there be a - CUT TO FLASHBACK - etc

As I noted a good director will get you there feeling breathless. This just didnt

Not a criticism of the overall show just some better management of the presentation was needed

Seinfeld managed to do that so frequently. 4 seemingly isolated stories crashing together in act 3.

Maybe the producers wanted to tell as much story as possible in case the show ended after s2. Again, another curse of modern tv applied by Netflix.

Hank seemed to be using the chips to program people to be non-aggressive. But then passes the technology to the Enclave to help them start a war. Was he just deceiving Lucy?

The show didn't come back to the creature that rescues The Ghoul off the pole.

The Vault-Tec execs get killed by the giant bugs but later in the show they are all banging on Steph's door before she initiates Phase 2 (whatever that is). I assume it was a different timeline but it was confusing.

They are not the same execs. The ones killed by the bugs were the ones that Norm led to the surface.

The ones banging on Steph's door are still underground in the vault.

Enjoyed the season, only whiny bit for me (and I'm extremely happy and feel lucky that this show exists to begin with) is that the producers seem to lock themselves into an 8 episode season and then have to rush a few stories, rather than just make whatever number is required for a season, another episode would've helped.

Frank Bunn the creature will feature heavily in S3 is my guess as Coop is now headed to Colorado and there was a 'meat bag' easter egg hanging on the Colorado sign during the end credits. I won't spoil but if you research you'll understand.

A bit of a jumbled mess in my view, which sort of brings it down, even if I can see what they are trying to do - set everything up for Season 3 with the limited screen time all those characters necessarily have.
