I took my family home at about 2:30 because there were'nt any players around that we hadn't got sigs. from . I thought they were supposed to be there til 4:30 . Next time I'll get there at 10 rather than 11:30 .Funny that,wasn't the day suppose to go to 4pm????
My advice is get there early. Players were arriving at 10.30 and most came out at 11 and that was the best time to grab them. The activities went till 4 but I don't know that the players were expected to stay that long. And security people had to take a lot of players away from the never ending crowds prior to the presentations, otherwise they could have been stuck there forever.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing . There were heaps more people than I was expecting . Good to see though .

Club website numbered the crowd at 7,000. Sold 850 memberships to take us over the 25,000 mark. Nice days work.
I was told by a carlton person a little while ago that the clubs wont be including non attending members in the count this year . be interesting to see how many that would make it compared to last year .

was my first family day and thought it was pretty good. bought a footy for my 6 month old son and only got ratts, murph, ellard and waites sign.
i think everyone should give the players a break, when you got that many kids etc constantly in your face it would take a very patient man not to snap. i know its in their contract and all but i was gettin pissed with adults pushing their kids infront of me holding my toddler when i had clearly been waiting longer than them.
ratts took time for a sign and have a photo with me and my boy, murph signed shit loads after the presentations in the fenced off area and made eye contact and thanked everyone he signed for which i think is acknoledging and caring, dave ellard got his name called out for presentations but finished signin my boys ball before hurrying off and waite was a up for a little chat. all really nice blokes.
didnt even bother linin up for juddy line was too long and i felt very sorry for those people in the line that were waiting all that time only to have people jump the line and grab posters up the front. im guilty for accepting posters sorry. maybe the roped off area should have been patrolled a bit better.
i think it depended on what side of the ground you were on for
who you saw. i saw hampson, houlihan, waite, ratts and juddy all mobbed and signing in my area so im sure they were all about.
dicks a nice bloke too stopped for a photo and chat.
Scarves are great too and iff you got one of those stupid collingwood plastic sleeves in the mail and rang up they send you a complimentary scaff/hat voucher. i got three. nice.

Yep, but wasn't there long enough for it to be too bad. One circuit inside the ground dodging 4,743 footies all flying around at once. Had a coffee, not too bad.
The Blues Brothers - oh dear. 2 talentless blokes with piss-poor, put-on yankie accents copying 2 yankies who were copying random Blues/Soul musicians. Both people in the crowd went off.
Nearly fainted in the shop - **** does that place need some ventilation. Still not often 1000 people will be queuing to buy over-priced China-made crap all at once.
Easy to be negative I know, these days are mostly for the kids, right? Carlton couldn't organize a **** in a free brothel and never could. Oh well, it's what I expected. I really only wanted to get a few shots of my old seat.

The reason for that being...... when I was one person away from the register with my daughter, the had to turn the air conditioning off as it was dripping water from the roof (through the roof tiles) & dripping all over the register...... hehehehehehehe
Although I wasn't there (Perth)..i would imagine it would be hard to get 22 or so players to sign auto's for 7000 odd people so not everyone is going to be happy.....if you want to get down the front at a gig you get there the day before...if you want Juddy's auto then get there before the gates open next time....great to hear the numbers though augers well for support this year.......

Last 2 family days my son wanted to meet Fev but hasn't been possible, will have to attend training session to meet him.
Overall a pretty good day, disappointing that a lot of fans didn't get to meet players, not sure there is a solution to this.
