Family Law Enquiry

There will be a few people in here that have more direct experience with family law in Australia. Some bitter, some relaxed.

But another enquiry? And with Pauline Hanson in the chair?

Shows that Morrison does not give a stuff.

"For those contemplating suicide and facing potential family violence, I'm asking you to stop and know you have finally been heard. "

Give it time, Pauline, before you claim success.

Responding to the announcement, Angela Lynch from the Women's Legal Service of Queensland said she held concerns the review would delay much-needed reform to the sector, noting the Government has not even responded to the ALRC report.

"How many more women and children have to die in this system, and we are now going to wait another 12 months?" she said.

"We were told to wait 18 months when the previous ALRC report was established.

"And now .… women and children are required to wait another 12 months before this inquiry and its recommendations."

The inquiry is well worth having. Let's see where the evidence takes us.
The issue is that they haven't implemented the recommendations of the last one, now as a sop to Pauline they are starting a new one so she can get her name on it.

Pauline saying "you've finally been heard" as if she's the hero instead of a fly in the ointment.

Hanson has been proposing changes to the system for a while now. She will get quite vocal about this issue. Its going to be great. About time someone stepped up, good on Hanson for continuing the push the issue, and may she rock the boat as much as possible.

You know what they say, governments dont hold inquiries if they arent sure of the outcome.

See the Banking Royal Commission for how this will play out.

Lot of chest beating, not much accomplished.
Was that the BRC that the banks had to give Turnbull the greenlight and outlined the terms beforehand ?

Standard practice on RC’s across the aisle that

Define the conditions and make sure it fits in the confines.

Same as the abuse royal commission.

Everyone knew how it would play out.

The high percentage of male suicides post family court says the inquiry is well justified. Also the overwelming evidence of the positive influence of males on their kids.

So why have they ignored the last one?

They haven't its at the very heart of the enquiry. The family court is terribly biased against men and the court is a weaponized blunt instrument having a devastating impact on our society. Extraordinarily high rates of male suicide and fatherless families is failing us.

Well, time will tell.

The limit on what both sides can spend is a good idea. We overuse blood sucking vampires known as solicitors in this country.
