Jeff Fehring - 90 metre goal at Moorabbin.
John Bourke - whacking the umpire** and then a spectator during an Army Reserve Cup match at the Lake Oval.
Jerker Jenkin - Jezza's stepladder.
Richard Lounder - worst ever number 1 draft pick.
Micky Nettlefold - getting pinged for deliberate in the '83 QF.

Must be dozens of others...

** An elephant stamp for anyone who can name the umpire John Bourke whacked.

Kerry Good - goal after the siren in the Escort Cup GF in 1980. Handy player over a few years though.
Rayden Tallis - getting his head stepped on by Dermie. Very unspectacular player.
Kristian Anning - the bloke who changed his name to Bardsley.
Brad Gwilliam - getting ironed out by the goal post, in Perth I think.
Murray Wrensted - kicking the point in that final.

I know some of the older posters have already heard this one, so just go to the next reply.
My half brother was a boundary umpire with the the VFL & AFL. He was the umpire who has the distinction of having his foot broken when Leigh Matthews broke the goal post at Windy Hill which fell on his foot, breaking it of course. I was in the Alan Hird stand on that particular day & laughed myself silly at the umpire getting hurt. I found out 3 years later he was my brother.

This is one nobody will know. Blair Campbell. Played for Richmond early 1970s. Officially regarded as the inventor of the banana kick. Kicked five sensational goals in one of his nine games with Richmond. Played a dozen with Melbourne also. Also played cricket for Victoria.

Sandie - are you Malcolm Owen's half brother ? Well I'll be buggerred I knew him very well at the time - played many a card game with the skinny fella. He wasn't real flash at it - it was jacks to open one night and he didn't open cause he had a pair of fives & fours - silly boy, great runner though.

In answer to a previous question - Phil Waite was the umpire John Bourke tripped up at the lake oval.

Surely Ted Hopkins is only famous for one thing too !

What a small world & I am his half sister, lol. Was Mal drunk at the time you were referring to, silly me that was Mal's usual state.

Sometimes he was so hungover after staying at my place, that he couldn't keep up with the play at the match the next day & copped a bollocking from the Umps board.
Cheers

Sandie - yes Mal had had a few - but in fairness to him we'd all had. He certainly liked his drink heh ? Geez he could run though. Whats he doing now ?

Thanks for the elephant stamp poster - very impressive except it wont stick to my envelope.
