Seeing as the first thread is almost 1000 posts long and they usually get locked when they're that big, I thought I'd make a second one.
The Fanplanner feature on FanFooty is now fully updated for the 2009 season, just waiting on the drafts to lock down player lists. For those who haven't seen it before, it's a system where I have made educated guesses as to the player prices and positions for the next Dream Team and Super Coach seasons, and you get to pick a provisional team based on the projected salary caps.
I've left the SC salary cap and magic number the same, and for DT I used the new salary cap of $7,693,800 and assumed a flat 10% rise in magic number to 4777. For the purposes of draftees, I used the phantom draft from BigFooty, modified with a few top 10 guesses by Emma Quayle, and followed their rough player positions.
The Fanplanner now includes Guru score predictions, which use historical data on each player's recent record overall and then modified by numbers against the opponent, at the ground and at the time of day, with further adjustment for the opposing team (i.e. the Sydney factor).
I'm publishing little snippets of info every so often about recent trends on the FanFooty blog. For instance, I can tell you that there doesn't seem to be one single player who has replaced Xavier Ellis in plan teams since the news broke of his injury, though Nick Malceski and Ricky Petterd have become more prominent. A number of teams are pushing Jack Grimes up to a starter now. Look for future stories on the blog for further insights.
