The House of Gumby erupted as the Gumbies stormed home to clinch a Round 10 victory but audible, beneath the plasticine cacophony, was the booing from the hearty Roys fans who had made the trek to watch their team falter once more.

The Roys recorded their 6th loss of the season, the 8th loss where they had a lead of 35 or more goals at some point in the game, only to flounder when the going got tough... and the Roys fans have had enough.

For a long, long time Roys fans had a simple mantra. "Nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and a Roys loss"

Season 25 saw many Roys fans questioning their belief in that mantra as the Roys dog finally caught the Roys tail, sweeping all before them to claim the premiership.

Their underwear stayed tight in the first quarter of Season 26 as the Roys stormed to an undefeated start in their first 4 games. Surely fans figured this signaled a long overdue turn in fortunes.

Gorillas everywhere were making arrangements for finals tickets, booking flights and cancelling weddings in the process.

Fortune is a cruel bitch and made the Roys pay for their folly of believing that sustained success was around the corner. The Roys closed out the season with only 3 wins from their last 10 games to finally slide out of the Top 8 in the seasons last round, being one of the few reigning premiers in league history to not return to the finals.

Season 27 was a chance to make things right, but they Roys couldn't get that right. Starting the season with 3 1/2 wins from their first 10 games.

The Roys season is out of control.

Since the Roys started the season 4-0 in Season 26 they have now put together a league worse record of 6 wins 1 draw and 16 losses during that period.

What has gone wrong with the Roys? Is this the premiership hangover of all hangovers? Has their recruiting since their 2nd flag failed? Do the Roys fans have any hope? More questions will be asked with games against the finals bound Warriors, Royals and Demons looming in the next three weeks.

Fans are making their displeasure known in a show of gorilla aggression and we can only imagine the fecal splatter on the walls of the BJO will only increase in the coming weeks.

I could go for some dim sims
Chew them frozen, it's ... an experience.

Broken don't forget that in two of our wins this season (Furies, and also last week) we had massive leads and tried our very darndest to give them up! If matches were 5 quarters long, we'd be 1.5 from 10.

I move for a new, team-based award in the SFA, founded upon the Roys endeavours and the teachings they impart as a club.

I put forward THE SISYPHUS AWARD.
