So now we know the finals draw, I thought it would be interesting to discuss who you as fans would rather win as while teams may say they do not have a preference, we supporters definitely do.

So

Adelaide
If you win week one, would you rather play Sydney, Essendon, Richmond or Geelong in week three?
If you lose week one, would you rather play Port Adelaide or West Coast in week two?

GWS
If you win week one, would you rather play Sydney, Essendon, Richmond or Geelong in week three?
If you lose week one, would you rather play Port Adelaide or West Coast in week two?

Port Adelaide
If you win week one, would you rather play GWS or Adelaide in week two?

West Coast
If you win week one, would you rather play GWS or Adelaide in week two?

Sydney
If you win week one, would you rather play Geelong or Richmond in week two?

Essendon
If you win week one, would you rather play Geelong or Richmond in week two?

Geelong
If you win week one, would you rather play Adelaide, GWS, Port Adelaide or West Coast in week three?
If you lose week one, would you rather play Essendon or Sydney?

Richmond
If you win week one, would you rather play Adelaide, GWS, Port Adelaide or West Coast in week three?
If you lose week one, would you rather play Essendon or Sydney?

Beat West Coast and play the Crows.

I hate showdowns, but this would be our best chance of progressing. Ignore the smashing we got a few weeks back, if they lose and we win the momentum in what would have been a 60/40 game in thier favour will swing back to 50/50.

Beat Port and play GWS at spotless, beat them there last year, and almost beat them there a few weeks ago.

Prefer to play Adelaide should we progress.

2 reasons, firstly because we play Adelaide oval better than most away grounds due to size, but also the travel factor. Playing in Adelaide which is a 2 hour flight compared to 5-6 to spotless is a massive difference.

I think you guys could be the smokey in finals this year. Based on your list, but your midfield has to lift. Nic Nat is potentially the feel good story.
I guess anyone you think might be the surprise by definition isn't though.

Any of the other finals sides except Geelong and Sydney. I feel like Geelong's superior finals experience and recent record against us might cause trouble. Crows fans are hoping our recent win against Geelong wasn't an aberration. Sydney have smashed the Crows in finals in recent times (2012 and 2016), so even though they only just beat us in the latest clash, it's a big worry.

I definitely want to play Port, if at all possible. A possible (though extremely unrealistic) scenario is that the Crows and Port play off in the grand final. Now that would be a fitting (and hilarious) finish.

On the small chance Essendon upset Sydney wouldn't care too much between Geelong and Richmond. I guess would prefer Richmond as a Richmond vs Essendon semi-final at the MCG would have an amazing atmosphere.
Surely Richmond and Geelong fans in the event they lost would prefer to play Essendon rather than Sydney.

If we win, I'd rather play Geelong in the semi as I think we match up better against them than we do against Richmond. Especially at the MCG.

If we then somehow made a prelim, we're no chance against Adelaide or GWS either way. I'd rather GWS so that we don't get a huge belting from Adelaide.

I'd just be happy to be in the second week of finals. Either Geelong or Richmond would be perfectly fine.
I guess the build up against Richmond would be more exciting if I had to pick one.

If we could somehow progress to a prelim - I'd rather avoid Adelaide if possible. So GWS would be preferable.

I doubt many Richmond/Geelong supporters are going to be sitting there going "geez I want to play Sydney"

I am bullish about our chances this week- it does depend on which side shows up. We've shown we can bring intensity for periods - we need to ramp that up for 4 quarters.

Realistically though- we've been missing our best footballer all year. Throw NicNat into us even at half fitness and we are a 5 goal better side IMO. So if we can somehow manage to get him fit enough to play, I doubt we just make up the numbers.

There has been a lot of doom and gloom around West Coast, mostly because the age of the list and our lack of youth coming through. Fairly sure Gary Lyon thought we'd be wooden spooners next year. However the core of our list is around that 25 y/o mark so we should be there or thereabouts again next year as well.

The not sydney option honestly i dont think we will beat them we need someone else to knock sydney out whereas on our day we can beat anyone else.

If we win straight through to a prelim i prefer adelaide slightly as i think we match up better against them than gws but i wouldn't mind either.
