Hi All,

For those that played Fantasy Big Bash and anyone else who is interested, Fox Sports has put together an okay game for the World Cup. First prize $5000, no other prizes. It's not ideal, but it's better than the signed bat and awful game setup on offer for the Fantasy League on the official website.

Quick rules rundown. 42 group games are split into 6 round of 7 games. As per Big Bash, one or two teams each round will play twice, and one or two have the bye. Players that play twice get points for BOTH games. You can pick a maximum of 2 players from each country. Prices do not change at all throughout the tournament. There are 3 transfers per round. The scoring is pretty complex but rest assured good performances are rewarded with big (massive) scores.

That's the skinny. The rules with transfers and max players change a little for the three knockout rounds, but that's unimportant for now. If you'd like to add a little interest tot he world cup jump on board.

League code 221-80

While I'm at it, here is how the first 6 rounds look in terms of byes/double games.

Rd 1- Bye UAE, Double NZ
Rd 2- Bye Ireland, Double England
Rd 3- Bye England & Pakistan, Double West Indies & UAE
Rd 4- Bye NZ, Double Pakistan
Rd 5- Bye West Indies & UAE, Double Ireland & Sri Lanka
Rd 6- Bye Sri Lanka, Double UAE

One final thing. There is no rolling lockout. Final 12 is locked in at the start of each round.

Good Luck.

No byes or doubles for Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Afghanistan, India, South African, Australian players then.

Will be interesting to see resting of players against the minnows.

The minnow teams are what will make this a fantasy crap shoot when your guns are rested & you cop donuts instead of 100's.

It's really hard to pick a decent team under the cap, especially when you haven't even heard of 1/2 the players.

How's this look?

I thought it was 2 per country max?

I'm in also, much better then the main comp where you have to trade/change your team every game.

I think Kane Williamson & Corey Anderson are the 2 players you wanna get on from NZ.

Yeah, I got on Anderson. Wish he batted a little higher, but he's still one of the best AR options. Not sure on McCullum v Williamson, though. Have McCullum at the moment. Whoever it is, I'm probably going to trade them after the DGW anyway.

Man their website makes SC look fantastic.

Excuse the n00b question, but how the hell do you remove a player and replace with someone else?

Yeah it's not that intuitive. There's a transfers button, click on that.

Anyone have an opinion on these combos:

Williamson & Maxwell v Gayle and Anderson.

Leaning towards the former.

Williamson and Maxwell for me.

First one, although with the potential for absolute monster scores with this scoring system (e.g. 150 off 120 with 10 sixes is a score of roughly 400), if Gayle is in the mood he could do anything. Think Maxy will have a big tournament though.

Assuming he gets to have a bat in a bunch of these games against the lower tier sides. The 2 player restrictions per country are ridiculous.

Yeah, 3 would have been nice, or just no such restriction at all. The whole setup is inferior to the Big Bash game, but I'm just happy there is at least one decent game to play. I haven't figured out screenshots yet, so apologies for this format.

Warner, Kohli, Williamson, Raina, James Taylor, Moeen, Shakib, Sangakarra, Steyn, Kulasekara, Starc, Boult. Tossing up Kohli/Rohit, Kulaekara/Herath and Boult might go out depending on who is in NZ's Xl on Saturday. Pretty happy with the structure though.

Have a trading plan laid out with 2 trades per round that I'll almost definitely make and one 'luxury' trade that can be ditched if I need to replace an injured player etc. At least the fixed prices makes this kind of planning less futile.

Quite like the restrictions myself. Will give a lot of opportunity for PODs.

Take the Aussies for example, no restrictions would mean nearly everyone would have all of Smith, Warner, Maxwell, Johnson and Starc (and probably Hazelwood too at his price).
With the restrictions Im guessing the two most picked Aussies will be Smith and Starc. Means guys like Warner and Johnson can be differentials.

Like the Shakib pick. Surprised not many are going after him considering he was a highly rated 20/20 and one day player. Playing UAE in the first round helps too, just hope they bat first.
