Navas ---------Modric ---------- Young

Liking your team Godzke. :thumbsu:
Ta. I've taken a Wenger approach and opted for youth wherever possible. :p

BL on not getting Luiz. Imo he is the next Pique. Same skills but a better dribbler and more versatile. Would be a good choice as LB as well.

When Ronaldo gets inevitable injured, I can push Bale forward, bring in a CB and play Luiz on the left. :D

Nice. 4-2-3-1 a popular formation. Ivanovic is a CB for Serbia isn't he? Considering moving him centrally?

I have too say I am a bit disappointed that everyone has gone for such defensive line-ups, it being a fantasy draft and all. I was even considering having 3 at the back at one point.

but if FC is going to sim it through FM, your team would get killed defensively without a proper structure.

if we were picking like that I'd line up with a 2-2-6. :p

You can have 3 at the back if you want Cesc. I purposely suggested an FM sim so that people remembered defenders.

That makes the draft a bit more challenging and funner in my opinion. I'm planning on drafting the weapons that will allow me to play a 4-5-1, a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 depending on the game/whether I need to win or a draw will be good enough.

... and while we can chose the preferred settings (ie. formation, starting XI, attacking/defensive philosophies, etc.) it would be the assistant manager we pick that would essentially manage the team ingame.

I think we should explain the teams as well at some point - and why we've gone the way we have.

For example - I've picked my team to play 4-3-3 (3 central midfielders, 3 forwards) with the attacking full backs to provide the width, with a left footed and right footed defensive midfielder to cover each side when the full backs push forward.

Agree completely. For the mean time, I think everyone should try and make a visual copy of their side.

Subsequently, I present to you my Starting Eleven.

Maybe do that privately. If you tell me that's your gameplan then I'll counter strategise.

Strategy: counter-attacking
Tempo: high
Width: wide (exploit space created by fullbacks over-committing0
Passing: direct

Re-position / re-pick players so that wide inside forwards are changed to natural wingers to provide additional cover down the wings. Change the role of the striker to suit.

etc. etc.
