And pretty easy to pick a cheap defender from said team I would have thought. Why spend 6m on a defender when he has a 5m team mate playing, and you could upgrade a Gray to someone more likely to score regularly?

6m defender more likely to have assists and bonus points. Anyway everyone has different strategies, I can't wait for the season to get underway.

Yeah I said that. I generally try and find a 5.5 from the same team who is a certain starter. From time to time there's an Alderieweld 6.0 who can make it worthwhile with his goal threat

Spose going Ibra and Aguero is very top heavy though, not sure if I can afford it, hence why I'm looking at Vardy and Ibra instead

Just looking at 4 main guns to bang the goals and assists in then the rest are likely affordable fixture types to capitalise on early except Firminho, I think he will pop up against any opponent imo, I don't think he will flat track bully and we are lucky to have him as a midfielder, not a striker


If everyone is going Rondon then fine, I may as well do the same as he will likely go up in value/stay the same with high ownership, will mean I can field 3-4-3/4-3-3 every week too

My entire point is no one captains defenders.. Well, one of the points.

Baines has definitely been captain material in the past. A defender who was on penalties (and probably still is)... gold.

Generally I don't spend too much on defenders or goalkeepers. I won't be starting with anyone who is 6.0 or more this year that's for sure. Plenty of great options in the 4.5-5.5 range.

I think Baines will be my fallback option if the Stones transfer to City doesn't go through. After Shaw, he looks the best value for money at the top-end. I do worry about his age and whether his best is well and truly behind him now though.

5.5, 5.0, 4.5 (4.5, 4.5) feels like a good balance.

Aguero + Lukaku is where it's at.

I mean, again like I said earlier it's all about capitalising on runs of fixtures, so assessing players over the course of the season isn't necessarily needed.

Lukaku was putrid at the end of last year. If he stays at Everton, any reasons to think he will be motivated?
