78 here with Mendy and Wan-Bis on the pine... almost.

transfers?
Mkhi -> Maddison, Jorginho, Kante, Neves, Richarlison or?

Not making any trades this week, with a view to shifting Mitro to one of Wilson/Jimenez if either of those impress more, and then Hudson-Odoi up to Neves or Lucas Moura down to Pereyra (yes I'll miss out on a bit of their price rise, but would rather get a larger sample first).

56. Gone from top to close to bottom with the Sunday games.

It's the first time I'm playing. What's the quickest way of becoming a master at this? I just put out a team there and hoped for the best.

Just pick popular players before they become really popular, only way you make money in this game

Then when you trade them players out when they're maxed out/peaked or injured, you only get half your money you made on them back

For example you jump on a 5.5m player and trade him out at 6.5m, you only get 6.0m back...

Mane was a much better option :)

Had Mane for most of Pre-Season but caved late and went Salah because of ownership, going to be annoying if that hurts me.

74, with wan bissaka and neves on the bench. sane not starting got me, and miki looks like being absolute toss this season.

considering copping the -4 already to trade sane to mane and getting bernardo in for miki. had .5 sitting in the bank

You can't complain if you had Wan-Bissaka on the bench. If you didn't play him, I'd guess he was probably only in your team as a cheapo anyway.
Cedric out <60min with Southampton on clean sheet - just great :/
I had no idea about that rule until I saw Cedric's score. Is it new?

Thanks for explaining that. I always thought you just got the price back that you paid in the first instance and that's why it was so much lower.

I had him on my field for most of pre-season until I went to three at the back.. Think I can complain. ;)

Players have always needed to play 60 minutes to get a CS.

Wouldn't make much sense if you did as you wouldn't be able to generate any wealth, and players who go up in price would be unobtainable.

You've talk about things being unobtainable pretty often (e.g. 'how can you ever get Salah if not at the start of the season?'). The answer, of course, is you have to swap a more expensive player for a cheaper one. Regarding CSs I guess I must've always thought they picked up a yellow card or something and that's why they didn't get the CS points. I could've sworn though that it used to be that you got +2 for a whole game, and +1 for a sub game, with the other calculations kept separate. The fact Cedric played 55 minutes and doesn't get clean sheet points is odd and harsh.

Same thing happened to Christensen a few times in the back end of last season. The 60 minute mark is fairly arbitrary but there has to be some cut off point. I mean if you are injured in the 3rd minute and don't play the rest of the game you're not really worthy of a clean sheet.

Please quote where I said that about Salah? I said not having him due to his high ownership is dangerous, much as it was with Ibra a few years ago. And yes it becomes harder to get those players in when, already quite expensive, they become moreso as the season goes on. Your weird notion that you don't get any benefit of their price rise would surely make it even less likely because even the cheap players would start getting more expensive or you end up with half a squad who doesn't play just so you can manage to get 5-6 good players in.

Why would getting a yellow stop you getting the CS bonus?

Why would it make sense for someone coming on for five minutes to get 4 points?

Yeah, I thought only recently they introduced a line so that someone playing 88mins gets the +2, compared to someone playing 2mins. But I thought the line was 20mins or something. Not 60, which is pretty silly. Maybe it's a game reason and makes things more even between big and small teams, so a defensive person who comes on late for a big team doesn't get easy points.

Don't get your knickers in a knot. You repeatedly said to people that not having Salah at the start could price you out. I was paraphrasing, as you just confirmed. Getting a yellow wouldn't stop you getting a CS bonus, I was just hypothesising as to how I could've missed that fact about the game and imagined maybe thinking 'must've got a yellow'. Similarly, my comment about pricing is just going off hazy memory. So I bought Robertson cheap last year, he was great, but when I looked to see what value I could get for him it would be far less. 4.7 or something. Which seemed like the price I bought him at.

Not every online discussion has to be adversarial.

My knickers aren't in a knot, and I was going to say the same to you, your first response seemed eager to get into an argument by trying to call me out on previous comments.. before now admitting you were paraphrasing and I never said it. :$

I actually just scanned through my comments on Salah in this thread which amount to two - asking someone how they plan to get him in if he starts well, and suggesting to another it's suicide not to start with him with such high ownership. Neither makes a comment on being priced out of getting him.

Yes, but as with any fantasy game, the objective is to pick a good team that will score well, earn value, and let you move speculative rookie picks who earn cash on for underpriced, value premium players. I'm happy just having a general discussion, but you seem to switch from questioning and confused to authoritative pretty quickly.

Any Lucas Moura owners here think it's worth holding on to him?

Same but with AWB on field instead of King.

I'm giving him one more week. If he can't perform against Fulham he's out for a Neves/Pereyra type.

Your literally fighting over nothing smh.

I thought I was just discussing the metrics of the game and correcting Ratts on a misunderstanding about how valuation and scoring works, but I guess hard to have a conversation with him that doesn't become squabbling over semantics.
