Just reading Freako's latest report. Interesting that for Harvey replacements in the forward line he suggests Davey and Wirrpanda but no Davis.
Davey and Panda are tempting as they seem good value for money but their history of injuries is not appealing. Davey only played 15 games last year and 18 in 2007. Panda has already missed 2 games this year, and only played 17 last year. For that sort of money I reckon those 2 are risky to be considered as a premium when you would be expecting them to play every week and score well.
Davis to me looks more attractive; playing more around the ball this year, can kick goals, and is in a better team. He played 20 games last year, 21 in 2007.

Thoughts?

yeah have to agree, Davis probably the best bet out of those 3
but im thinking either Deleido or Gia for Boomer, Deledio costs about the same as Davis and i think a better option, Gia is 35K cheaper than both of them so might go with him for some extra cash.

I don't know why you would bother with Davey or Wirrpanda at this stage. If you are going for an upgrade you may as well go for a solid gold premium. There are a number of them available: Pav, Richo (2 weeks time), Didak (few weeks time), Deledio, Gia. If you are feeling adventurous go for SJ or Chapman. Personally, I think the likes of Davey/Wirrpanda are just being unique for the sake of being unique, like those who refused to get Gibbs in the midfield.

I think he is just trying to have a bit of an individual opinion, not tell everybody the best possible players but for people to have a think about others they may have not considered.

Personally I'm looking at trading off Skipworth this week and I know I'm looking at Goodwin and Pavlich, most likely Pav as he has a large upside considering he looks like he will play more midfield with Palmer out and the Docker's may finally have a bit of belief.

Otherwise Goodwin has been uber consistent, and has the capacity to score well as seen on the weekend.

I think he is on the money with Davey though, just being fed the ball at every oppurtunity.

Pav or Davis for me. I'm a bit apprehensive about Pav, but I felt the same way about Riewoldt last year and he ended up tearing apart the last ten rounds.

Deledio/Didak/Richo/SJ are all upgrade targets in two - three weeks for Mitch Brown and may be even a straight swap for Krakouer (form pending of course).

Had Pav and Chap from rnd 1. Richo I am cautious about given his injury on the weekend, Didak is weeks away from decent form I believe, while Lids and Gia are under performing (only averaging mid 80s).
In my book, if you're going to fork out for a premium you want them scoring around 100, preferably with a track record of consistent performances and no injuries. I also don't believe in the theory of "waiting" for premiums. The earlier you get a premium in, the earlier your score will benefit. So I plan to replace Harvey this week and I reckon there are a few credible alternatives. e.g Volt, Davis, SJ. All 3 have pros and cons.

wish he would add TOG for the weeks so you know if the had a lower/higher score then normal because of the TOG they played for the week instead of the average which i dont find very useful by itself
