And thus the reign of glorious 2010 draft class has ended.

We now only have Hartlett, Broadbent Pittard and Jonas remaining from our 2007-2008-2009-2010 drafts. The players drafted in these drafts are the 25-28 year olds who should be in the prime of their careers right now. What a balls up of a club we were back then. Thank God we've plugged those holes with trades over the last few years because otherwise we'd be in a world of pain.

Thanks, and all the best Youngy.
Looking forward to seeing how he goes up there.

His 2016 was good mainly due to opposition teams not giving him attention he deserved up forward. Once they did, his goal output dried up.

I dunno, I think he was pushed up ground more and Ken wanted more defensive stuff out of him, combined with Dixon improving and Gray full time forward it made much harder for Aaron in an already difficult forward line.

Hope he goes alright but confident he won't have a year like he did last year again. Should do ok at GC though.

Always liked him and he always gave his all for the club.

Good luck Youngy.

I thought he was going to be delisted at the end of 2015 along with the other Aaron. He certainly made the most of it in 2015 with a break out season but unfortunately couldn't put it together in 2017. Destined to be a depth player at Ports so not unhappy with him seeking moore opportunity at Gold Coast.

Big fan of Youngy; sad to see him go. Hope he crushes it at Gold Coast. Sucks we didn't get more for him but it seems like we're trying to gather a lot of good will with other clubs by doing fair deals. Makes it seem like players would want to come to us in the future.

Agree with comments re 2007 and 2009. 2010 was harder because of the compromised draft with GC entry but picking Jacobs was the big utensil up along with taking Simon Phillips when we had a free hit at Paul Puopolo and Nick Dugan and any other state league player once we decided to trade back the Krak compo.

2008 I think the recruiters did a good. Redden's body, knee in particular, couldn't stand up but ability wise, he was good enough to be a long term AFL ruckmen. The 2015 list managers ****ed up Jacko not the 2008 recruiters. The drongos forced him out of his best position because of their shortsightedness about Ryder and Lobbe.

Played some top notch footy stepping up in 2016 when the majority around him was falling apart, really struggle to comprehend his regression this year back to a fringe footballer. Must be a mindset or confidence issue, back yourself in mate!

Hopefully for he and the Suns sake the additional responsibility and the likelihood of a more definitive role set for him will be beneficial to building this belief. Would not begrudge him if he can permanently make that transition into a consistent genuine best 22 prospect.

All the best Youngy.

Insane to think the degree to which we've basically circumvented the draft system by trading in Rider, Dickson, Polect, Rockliffe, What's and Mottlop. God bless the age of free agency.
