I found myself conflicted in this episode because i wanted lester to get away, i think because i felt his wife didn't deserve to die.

but then lester took care of that didn't he?
 
I honestly couldn't believe Lester would actually wander over and try and say hello to Malvo, what was he expecting?

Malvo to turn to him and say "hey lester, buddy, great to see you, let's catch up and have a drink and talk about the good times we had when you killed your wife and I killed the police chief"?

That was where Fargo nearly lost me, I am happy to suspend all sorts of disbelief about things but I never thought Lester could be that stupid.

Did he do it because he was drunk? Perhaps they needed to ham that up a bit more, it just seemed like the dumbest thing ever. Surely he would have taken one look at Malvo and GTFO of there.
 
I think the point is that 99% of the rest of us would have just gtfo of there but Lester has broken bad and completely gotten full of himself by getting away with it all. He is now wealthy, with a new younger wife, winning awards etc and totally full of himself. It's exaggerated for sure, but that's how he is now, deluded with fake self-importance.

I agree it takes a suspension of disbelief but that is part of the whole premise of the show - randomness, violence, coincidence and chance.

I thought it was a great episode and showed the absolute depths to which Lester has fallen. Him letting his new wife walk into that office to her death was colder than anything Marvo has done.

And it wasn't just that he let her walk in - he actively tried to get her killed by giving her his jacket and asking her to do the hood up.

13 minutes before we get that red Fargo title screen. Goosebumps.

****ing Lester man. For him to send Linda in that callously makes me actively yearn to see some sort of reckoning in the finale. I'm not sure I can ever look at Martin Freeman the same again.

Malvo just tearing up little kids now, and then goes toe to toe with Wild Bill. That scene was intense as ****.

I don't what type of ending we're going to get here, but it's been some ****ing journey.

Fargo > True Detective, but whatever.

Bloody tense the whole time. Billy Bob is on fire. His acting is quite literally 'Aces'.

Lester is such a bastard. Hey honey why don't you put the hood on, don't want you freezing that pretty face off. gah

Billy Bob will take Lester out and get away with it.

Such a tight 10 episode arc.
 
Another great episode, high tension start to finish.

Be surprised if the deaf hitman doesn't show up in the last ep & maybe somehow helps Lester get the upper hand over Malvo &, to pay homage to the movie, the dreaded wood-chipper is being put to good use when Molly waddles along with dear ol' dad to put things right.

brilliant absolutely superb! The tension in that episode was ridiculous. The first 15 minutes was so well done. Billy Bob is just magnificent. Cracks me up that scene telling the kids about the house Lawl!

When they showed Molly driving to the cafe` I was mentally bracing myself thinking "farrrrrrk what's gonna happen!?", then when he gets to his car as the detectives arrive I was expecting to see him through the window shooting the detectives and driving off.

GoT has given me more pregnant women getting murdered than I can handle, so I was literally barracking like I was watching a footy game during that scene.

"Oh no, she's almost here!!! Walk out!!!!! Walk out NOW!!!! QUICKLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Holy shit!!!! I never realised that was Wild Bill. That scene was amazing, I thought Molly's dad was a goner. The whole episode was brilliant, as tense and hour of TV as I can remember.

Whichever is better, I love the fact that stations are willing to green light these shows knowing they are effectively one season offerings. It means we get to see amazing performances like Billy Bob and McConaughey on TV.
