Poor type-writer guy. He was always going to cop it.
His death annoyed me though. as if you would just sit there and let yourself get buried - was not believable.

I'm not sure what good running would have done.
When you are facing death, you do anything, that's basic human nature - especially considering the others weren't actually holding guns and it was dark. May have had only 1% chance of getting away, but 1% is a huge difference from 0% when it comes to dying. But other than that quibble, thought it was a great show and can't wait or the next instalment.

Another great episode. What I really like about the show is that it's obviously building to something big and has a number of different story lines leading there, but each if these episodes work really well as stand alone episodes too. There's no sense that we have to put up with boring expository episodes in the hope of a final payoff later on in the season.

I don't wanna talk about specifics of this episode until people have had more of a chance to watch it though.

Lou is no dummy. I'm expecting him to lose his wife to something other then cancer though.

Was nice to get a scene with Angus in it and not eating. His voice still makes me lol. Aussies do Minnesotan accents as good as yanks do Aussie accents based on this evidence and my poor attempts to replicate one.

It is nice to know that cripples can load guns. That kid is gonna make a major move in the upcoming war I reckon.

I didn't understand the oldest Gerhardt's actions in the bakery. I get that he wanted to toughen up the kid but the timing was completely dumb. I think that the same outcome at the table would have occurred regardless, but it just goes to show how much worse off the family would be with him in control.

Nick Offerman's character needs a bigger role he is bossing his scenes. I wouldn't trust Sonny with my car.

Peggy is building to something, I dunno what yet but I want to kick her femnazi boss in her no no at this point.

I hope that the Indian guy does something special before he is inevitably killed off. Maybe give Ed a breaking bad style send off.

The bakery scene was to demonstrate how reckless Dodd is. It was more about Dodd than Bear's son. Because, as we saw, it played a huge part in the negotiation.

Peggy is so ****ing stupid. Poor Gus is up shit creek.

Loved the living room scene. The look Gus gave the fireplace when Lou was there, he knows they're in deep shit.

Solid ep.

Loving this season much more than last season, which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. It just has this huge watch-ability about it; every storyline and character has me hooked. Quality stuff.

S2 Ep: Fear & Trembling...left me a bit ...meh.

Parts were good if not very good.. the cinema scene with the "I don't understand why you bought your son?" - and as we all know, sons can be pains in the back..

and the Garage scene..another terrific sense of impending doom and or violence that never quite happens but your never sure if it will or not.

But, walking into the Waffle Hut, finding the door unlocked, no one inside and the crime scene still not cleared?? What the owners cant find someone else to cook and serve? And then going out to the ice and the blood stains...what, doesn't it rain or snow in North Dakota anymore and then finally going out onto the road and low and behold a piece of glass from a car, a big piece no less... what were the odds........ I tell ya if Al Gore had written a book about that scene he could have called it "A Convenient Truth'.

Worth watching for the way they shoot the show. Great shot of the Waffle Hut.

Love the twins and Milligan.

Terrific side characters like Offerman's character showing his gun to Dodd's man.

Like Garratt who was great in this episode.

You can see Hank dieing.
Really, really good series so far.

Predictions for when Dunst/Plemons will knock off the hairdresser? I'm gonna say Ep 6.
Peggy seems like the type who is in the closet and more likely to use the hairdresser after realising she's a lesbian. Doesn't want to get knocked up. Brighter than her bumbling fat husband who looks like Shane Whitnall. Schemer.

Peggy and the Gerhardt women are brighter than the men in their family.

Thought S1 was great but this has gone to another level so far, mesmerising stuff. Enjoying the parallel shitstorms that are facing Ed/Peggy & the Gerhardt's - (seemingly) Ed & Peggy about to get stomped by the Gerhardt's & the Gerhardt's about to get stomped by Kansas.

& I'd be no good as a crim, Lou's speech to Ed & Peggy would have had me singing like a bird.
