Hopefully some of you esteemed viewers can help me out, coz for the first 15 mins of the latest episode I thought I had somehow missed a week :drunk:

- How did Ed and Peggy get away? Ed makes a break for it at the end of last ep, pretty sure Lou could have run down Fat Damon easily enough but Hank says don't tire yourself, we know where he's going. I assumed they were driving straight back to Ed'd place - but now Ed and Peggy are on the run somehow?

- How does everyone (cops and Gerhardts) suddenly know Mike Milligan is hanging out at the hotel? Guess the cops could have been told by Flo along with the other stuff about the KC outfit details, but it seemed like she didn't agree to rat and spill that stuff until the end of the episode - and still, how did she know about the hotel in the first place? And how do the Gerhardts know that Simone has been feeding Milligan info?

- How are Flo and Simone still alive after Mike Milligan's crew shoots up the place and kills Otto in the last ep?

(Props to the writers for remembering to answer the Hank-Peggy question.)

They did?

They did?

At one point when they're at Fargo PD, Hank admits he "should've checked on that girl". Between the concussion and the radio chatter about a siege at the station, it seems he made the call to drive off without checking the house.

- There's a lot about what happened with Ed/Peggy that we don't know. I'm presuming some of it will get clarified when we catch up with them next episode. I don't think the cops did try to go straight there - particularly because Hank needed medical attention and Lou didn't know the siege was broken.

- the Gerhardts do seem to know about the Pearl Hotel being a KC base. And if Hanzee has been tracking Simone for Dodd and knows where she goes, they can put two and two together.

- Floyd and Simone could duck and hide. Otto couldn't. It would also be strategic on KC's part to keep those two alive. But again, we don't know all the details about the attack so it's presumption here.

Cheers completely missed that - probably while I was on my phone making sure I hadn't missed an episode lol

Yeah hoping for a flashback picking up with Ed as he runs away. Still think it's a bit sloppy of Lou and Hank, even considering the other factors - the central figure of this whole sh1t-show is right there making a semi-comical attempt to run away, they know roving bands of killers are out and about looking for him at this very moment, you'd think they might spend 90 seconds scooping him up before doing anything else. Guess I can go with it for the sake of getting Ed on the run and all the gold that will no doubt entail over the next few eps.

Was never even hinted at though was it (Hanzee trailing Simone)? If if thats the case, doubt Dodd would clue his brother in.

Yeah guess I'll just have to go with it that, they got the old man and that was good enough. Still a bit strange though seeing Flo is right there - with Otto the way he is and Flo running things, she's far and away the most useful person to kill from a KC perspective, with the rest of the Gerhardt muscle gone I'd be sweeping that house from top to bottom. Not to mention Milligan was about to kill Simone this week for the sake of strategy before Lou and worlds worst cop busted in.

Still, pretty much the only misteps in this series. Cinematography in this show is unbelieveavle, some of the shots in the last 2 episodes in particular were just beautiful.

Always enjoy the nods to the Coen brothers within the show itself, too, and I reckon ep 7 set a new record; I counted maybe 8-9 references to various Coens films ..

Just dropped in.. to see what condition my condition was in. Reminded me I haven't watched Big Lebowski for at least 12 months, will be rectifying that this weekend :D

they've been showing Coens films on SBS weekly for the past few weeks now (Tarantino, too); not sure that they've done Lebowski yet though

yeah, I dont recall having any issues with S1

I can't think of any glaring plot holes myself, but I thought it sagged a bit mid-season with the whole Malvo-exploiting-Milos-religiosity subplot. Apart from the fact that it didn't tie in with the main plot (apart from being an excuse/reason for writer Noah Hawley to keep Malvo in and around Minnesota), I just thought it was kinda weak. That's not to say that I didn't love season one, because I did, and it went far and above my expectations going in.
Even then I liked the genesis (heh) of Milos' 'understanding' with 'God', that part was done well ...

anyway, just my opinion; I'm enjoying the 2nd season even more than the first, which is no mean feat because Malvo/Lester/Molly were a tough act to follow!

nice one .. I actually watched it not that long ago, what a great film.
'you're such a terrific lady'

would love to meet some people one day that actually spoke like this, dunno if I could keep a straight face but you never know, yah...

Season 1 had too many plot holes. Season 2 has been better up to Ep 7.
I ike season 2, but season 1 had stronger characters and a stronger story arc. And as for plot holes, with 30 or so murders including a judge, you would think that ever the stingiest over stretched police force would put than two cops on the case, one of whom has to mix that up with other duties such as escorting buses.

Season 2 comfortably ahead of Season 1 to this point for me. The story is probably not quite as tight, but I find it much more absorbing, exciting even, and the overall production is as good as it gets.

I was just watching the last ep of season 1 on FX.An interesting line from Lou Solverson [Keith Carradine] to his step-grand daughter about sitting on the porch one night in 1979 with a loaded gun waiting for some baddies to show up.He says they didn't that night but a couple of nights later.

A reference to the Gerhardts from season 2 ?
