I took the German opening scene as perhaps the "mistaken identity" theme that might run this season? We have already seen the old man die because of this (he had the same surname as Ray). Great first episode.

Thought first ep was a bit lazy by Fargo standards - I get that Ray's not the sharpest tool in the shed but getting that guy to do some robbing for you? Come on, you wouldn't let him walk your dog. You'd think Ray might have given him a vague description of the stamp and house too.

Still enjoying the show, but it feels a little same-same as the previous seasons.

The astute, determined cop who seemingly has to go it alone; Nikki and Ray are kinda like Peggy and Ed etc.

Hoping that continues the whole season...the newer Mustang v the piece of rubbish Mustang

Thewlis, Coon, Winstead and McGregor. Would watch for those four alone.

Criticism for the season is fair, but still an enjoyable watch. Hopefully it has a few surprises along the way.

Fargo has always been about repeated themes. We're into our 4th instalment now (the movie and 3 TV seasons), and each has had a pretty similar storyline. This season hasn't really done anything yet to set itself apart from the others, and I get the criticism that its almost Fargo by numbers.

The cast is excellent, but it needs a twist.

I wonder what the go is with Gloria's issues with technology? Can't use a mobile, lives in the middle of nowhere, not recognised by the door sensor and won't have computers in her station because I guess they don't work with her around.
