Freo have inquired about him. You can take my word for that, i don't have any reason to make that up. But the dogs are very keen to keep him, and i don't think Freo are pushing all that hard - well not as hard as the dogs are to keep him.

And Borgy is spot on.

do you know what your response was?

No don't know. Except we are keen to keep him. Mind you i suspect if Freo offered a deal that could be refused things might be different. But i think Freo were just checking on a young talented West Australian boy, see if he wants to head home or not = not willing to spend to much.

yep fair enough.i would hope that we are enquiring about every young midfielder in the country. i think he will remain a bulldog tbh

Now that sounds more like the scenario.

I am sure the Doggies are checking out KPP's at other clubs not getting games as well.

I really doubt any big deals will be done (or perhaps hope) by us.

Exactly. Would be negligent not to be checking out the status of various young midfielders - esp the WA boys.

Murphy spent about a dozen games at CHB.

Murphy is not a an AFL quality KPP. Well he hasn't shown it, if this was the case then you guys wouldn't have needed Tarrant who has proven he's an AFL KPP.

Tarrant was brought in to assist Pavlich. After '06 Freo thought they were in a position to compete for a flag. Murphy had a very good season in '06 and the hope was that he would continue that on in '07, but it still wasn't going to be enough to stop Pav being double/triple teamed on a regular basis, and placed a lot of pressure on Murphy to perform. By bringing in Tarrant, there is another dangerous forward for the opposition to worry about (not jut Pav) and Murphy should have found himself in the position of taking the third tall defender. Obviously it didn't work that way, but I think with a little tweaking of the forward line and a lot work on attitude, it can be a very potent forward line for the next few years at least.

As for Murphy not being an AFL quality KPP, I'd take him over anything on your list. Young KPPs take time. He is only now just starting to bulk up and play some dominant games in the WAFL. People expect everyone to walk in like Judd and take the competition by storm - you need to be a little bit patient sometimes.

Exactly - it has taken Brad Ottens 9 years to actually fulfill his "potential".

I disagree.

Otten's may have stared earlier had he been given a fresh start earlier.

I think some players just never fit with their first club, whether it be team structure or culture.

Ottens would still be looking to reach his potential at the tigers.

you keep claiming you heard all this, but i ask you frrom whom, who is you "reliable source"

One of the reasons people have 'reliable sources' is that they respect them. Blab to all & sundry who it is & you don't get information in the future.

I'll let you in on a little secret. I am Butane's source, but if I told you who my source was, then, well, you know the rest.
